I don't consider buying new release Hot Wheels main lines online to be collecting, really.

To me, finding it on the pegs is proper collecting.

Sure buying online is great to get a particular car but it does not feel as special...

Limited number lines and specialty models, okay yeah buy online.

This is one of the problems with HW - they gave great quality, but never seem to match everything up. Great casting? Poor wheels. Nice finish all round? Flaky interior. And so on.

I will admit, I am not fond of how Hot Wheels makes some vehicles, namely the Lamborghini Diablo, where the back wheels are much bigger than the front. They do that far too often. Thank goodness they didn't do it to the Toyota Supra.

Then a buck more, and I get to the $5.00 mark - packages and products definitely geared to the Adult Collector:

It does say "For the adult collector" on the back of those vehicles in that series.

I don't even know if I want more than 10 of the cars lol. There's nothing there I'm dying to get. Of course, I'll have to make an exception here and grab at least one of each featured casting. I'll aim for variations, errors, and maybe whatever else I can use for wheels or parts.

I sound like a jerk for saying this, but I'll bet that one line is printed to make insecure middle-aged men feel better about themselves. It's not a rule kids have to follow, and just because it's in the toys sections doesn't mean an adult isn't allowed to step inside. Its existence is not even necessary to comply with any laws or policies. It's there to make it sound more appealing, which in the most abrasive and eye-opening form says "to make you feel better/less ashamed". We personally may not feel too much shame, but others do (on the inside). If you may happen to be one of these people, getting upset at me for saying this ain't a resolve. Confront this issue of yours and overcome it.

Hey @Gotbeefboy564, D'you have this silver one? I have that maroon one too, but someone's in possession of it currently.

The one I have has a chrome base I don't know what's different about yours. My second one was brown not maroon.

Actually that silver one you posted is not the same as the 2008 MBX "I am Awesome" Metal I posted.

And are you absolutely sure it's not a reddish brown? Certainly looks like this one.

If anybody's interested in discounted mainlines(muscle cars, some exotics, etc.), let me know. They were of course $1 new, but I will offer discount + you just pay actual shipping.

Tricky, I have seen larger models from that line. I watch for same things from Hot Wheels & Tomica Limited, too. Dirty bastards.

Edit: What a joke. I just received an email from HWC in regards to the Mustang 50th Anniversary series of cars sold exclusively at Walmart......... Yeah, thanks for the announcement about this exciting series that came out couple of months ago. Are they serious? If those cars were worth anything, they'd been long gone. Good thing I didn't really care all that much about them.
