1 simple change, FAR better B-spec...

I have come up with 1 simple change that would greatly improve B-Spec, and also make the game longer! So at the moment you control some AI driver, who sucks. At first. You watch him race nice long races as well (Mine is currently in the middle of the American Championship, doing DOUBLE the race length I did a while ago on my favourite track :guilty:)

So the 1 change? Replace B-Spec Bob with someone on your friends list! I will say this straight away though, that not everyone will have a friend owning GT5, so Bob should still be available as an option.

Think about it, you want to do the B-Spec series, send an invite to a friend (request to drive for you). It pops up for them as an E-mail of sorts in the game, they aren't forced to do it.

You then get to race your own A-Spec, or "someone elses" B-Spec (I wouldn't mind doing a whole list of peoples!) The challenge comes in the form of the fact you are not driving your own car for this, but someone elses. So they may decide to give you a challenge or forget your not Bob and overpower your car... Advantage, you may find a decent challenge in A-Spec so can share it now. Disadvantage, SOME people will just overpower every race.

Just want to know if anyone else reckons this may help B-Spec along? Criticism welcome as well, I've listed the ones I can think of now, but I'm sure there will be others.

That sounds like a cool idea. I sent a friend of mine one of my FGT cars and I'd like to see how he would do in the FGT championship for me and vice versa.

That would be awesome! I would say "Hey, go faster!". "Don't go off the track!". "Slow down, you're going to crash!". All that through the mic :D

But then, what if they are screwing around, or quit the race half way. Bobs are dumb, but at least they win races and go all the way, non stop, for 24 hours if needed :P

The biggest problem I could see, is grinding A-Spec for yourself is enough of a chore, you wouldn't want to grind other people's B-Spec races as well.

What B-Spec needs, is a reason for it to be interactive more. At the moment, it's a fire-and-forget cash missile. Part of this is because GT5 is messed up so badly on the restrictions. I mean, I did the Euro Hot Hatch in a Veyron. When you can overpower B-Spec to the point you don't have to watch it, then people don't actually watch it.

Then there is the issue of race lengths, again, this affects A-Spec as much as B-Spec. Keep the race lengths down to sensible lengths, and people will sit through them. I won't be A-Spec'ing the endurance races, and I certainly won't be sitting watching the B-Spec endurance races... not a chance. The longest I would watch (and interact with) a B-Spec race, is around 20 laps. Anything above that and I have no interest in watching it. I would probably not do anything above that in A-Spec either.

I like the idea of B-Spec, and I used to enjoy it at the start... but now, it's done when I am not in front of my PS3... it's tiresome.
