...and this makes ten thousand posts!
It's been a long road; I started here at GTP in December of 2001, and my life has changed a lot over the years. I've graduated from university, moved in our first home, got married, had two kids, been though four cars, and had a few career changes since then.
At GTPlanet, I started out with a single post because I couldn't log onto the GTF (the prime reason being a personally self-inflicted 404 error). I Googled for the right address and found GTPlanet...at the time, it had just over 4200 members. Now, we have nearly 200,000 members (although a few just keep putting on a different mask, and ring the doorbell). There was less than 100,000 posts at that time, to put things in historical perspective. The biggest poster at the time had about 4000 posts. Part of me figured, "who has the time to post that much?"
The biggest reason I've been here so long, and for so many posts is not because of me...it's because of YOU! If none of you would have responded to my posts, quoted me, given me premium, thought I'd be a good moderator, made me laugh, made me think, made me play another round of Gran Turismo...I wouldn't have stuck around. It's you who makes that difference between staying around, making a community, or just allowing another forum to wither on the vine. It's all of you who make a forum, the rest is just software and hardware.
This is to the great members of this forum that make it all stick together, the ones that never fail to entertain us, and for those who's two cents are worth more than gold, the anonymous members that make up the numbers but still live enriched lives, and the very few cretins that unwittingly make me feel a little better about myself.
So, take some credit for what you've done. Otherwise, I would be 9999 posts away from making this thread.
