...and this makes ten thousand posts!

It's been a long road; I started here at GTP in December of 2001, and my life has changed a lot over the years. I've graduated from university, moved in our first home, got married, had two kids, been though four cars, and had a few career changes since then.

At GTPlanet, I started out with a single post because I couldn't log onto the GTF (the prime reason being a personally self-inflicted 404 error). I Googled for the right address and found GTPlanet...at the time, it had just over 4200 members. Now, we have nearly 200,000 members (although a few just keep putting on a different mask, and ring the doorbell). There was less than 100,000 posts at that time, to put things in historical perspective. The biggest poster at the time had about 4000 posts. Part of me figured, "who has the time to post that much?"

The biggest reason I've been here so long, and for so many posts is not because of me...it's because of YOU! If none of you would have responded to my posts, quoted me, given me premium, thought I'd be a good moderator, made me laugh, made me think, made me play another round of Gran Turismo...I wouldn't have stuck around. It's you who makes that difference between staying around, making a community, or just allowing another forum to wither on the vine. It's all of you who make a forum, the rest is just software and hardware.

This is to the great members of this forum that make it all stick together, the ones that never fail to entertain us, and for those who's two cents are worth more than gold, the anonymous members that make up the numbers but still live enriched lives, and the very few cretins that unwittingly make me feel a little better about myself.

So, take some credit for what you've done. Otherwise, I would be 9999 posts away from making this thread.

:)

Congratulations. Hopefully you'll still be here in ten more years and on 20,000 posts. Although you're a long way behind Famine.

Congratulations  . Apparently, according to the members list you are 60th in terms of post count.

Congrats on the 10k, Pupik, and the 15k+, Solid!

And congrats to TB for 13+k. 👍

Well done guys, GTP wouldn't be GTP without you. :)

Congratulations!
I've just gotten past 750
A long way for me to go to get to 10000 posts, if I last here that long. :nervous:

Congrats. In another 9 years, maybe I'll be posting my 10,000th post. From my billionaire yacht.

Congrats on the 10k Pupik 👍

Glad you decided to stick around, GTP just wouldnt be the same without you

I came in here to see naked Jimmy Carter pics. I am so disappointed.

Oh, and, uh... congratulations.

Congrats sir - your name's been a fixture in the GT community the past decade in my eyes, and even if you're not in the game anymore, it wouldn't be the same without you.

To 10,000 more!

Congrats big man! GTP is a far richer place with your presence, and so may it continue into the future. If not for your GT2 bible of car specs, I would not have found this site at all, so thank you!

From the early days I regarded your posts as ‘must read’ when spotted in the ‘new posts’ front page, even if the topic was not really up my alley. I still do, you have never given me a reason to change my habits.

It is true, that Fatmouse is happy you have been a bedrock of the forum since its inception. But this is false because Fatmouse is your bedrock. But true because you are Chancellor. But false, because its Chancellor to the Fatmousery.

Sometimes you just can’t win.

Happy 10,000th postday, Great landmark! :D

Where are the cakes for everyone? *waits with fork*

:)

It was when I was google searching your GT2 site, and Sportwagon's site that I came to GTPlanet by accident.

Congrats on 10K in posts, and thank you for being here.

And... 1000 *passes out*
I'm glad I joined the community here. It consists of fantastic, well mannered, intelligent people. I have learnt a lot here - and I'm not talking about video games. I've learnt things about English and grammar, cars, science, human rights, and skills like arguing and communication.

A big thanks to Jordan, the admins, the moderators, and all of the other users that are part of the community here. To the next 1000! :gtplanet:

Sorry if I'm spamming I just thought I'd revive my 1000th post. 👍

Thanks again to the Jordan and the rest that keep this site operational.

It's quality not quantity that's important *goes to work out how to hide post count*
