11/14/2017 (GMT-05:00) Maintenance Details?

it would be nice to see within the next month some new cars and/or tracks. the lack of tracks especially starts to get to me.
if you count out the rally tracks and ovals which both dont interest me, you're left with not very much tbh. what you are left with is great in itself for sure, but the repetition catches up to you

Server maintenance, not update, people...

Don't expect solution to the "missing offline career mode" or something like that... :D

I agree. But usually, when servers maintenace happens, its a good opportunity for a patch (to fix problems) and/or they prepare servers for dlc/updates that are going to happen.
So its not like every week that they server maintenance they'll add a patch or an update but if they are going to add those, its gonna happen with server maintenance.

There is now a countdown timer with reminder to save before the maintenance begins. Not a big deal for me one way or the other, but it's one less thing for people to have a meltdown over. Thanks PD.
Unless you're in the middle of a difficult livery, and trying to get to a good stopping point, before the maintenance. I felt like I was in final Jeopardy last night.

I know I shouldn't have expected it now, but I'm starting to doubt PD will ever add official support for this wheel. Fanatec wasn't supported in GT6, as far as I can remember. Right?

I'm like you waiting for the full support of the Fanatec CSL ERW in GTS. According to Thomas Jackermeier (Fanatec CEO) they work on it with PD and will make it fully work before end of 2017.

Since we are aware of their partnership with Thrustmaster and the upcoming Christmas I guess the update will come earliest shortly before Christmas or after it. This way they have hope people interested buying a wheel get the T-GT instead of the Fanatec as it's not fully supported yet.

The timing coincides with midday in Japan.

It’s not poorly timed, y’all just need to stop acting like North America is the only country in the world

I think it is fair to say that no one things North America is the only country in the world country... But that's probably because North America is a continent...#JustSaying

I don't know why other users are complaining about nothing being added during the maintenance period... No one said anything was going to be added in the first place. Maintenance implies improvements to the server. It's behind the scenes stuff... If they wanted to add content or say patch bugs, as you guys have seen, that can only be added through an downloadable update

GT Sport has been out for less than a month and it has had multiple patches to a game that was very stable at launch

Project Cars 2 is a million times more buggy. It has had one patch since launch back in September... #CountYourBlessings

They do it in their working hours.Surely you dont expect those people to start working at night so that US/EU people can play the game in their "prime" time.
surely, they do (well, an overwhelming majority do). I should know, I live here.

Yeah, this is probably the reason why there's no Fanatec support at the moment, I've been thinking...

maintenance is scheduled for every tuesday.
Ah, that's why there aren't any FIAs on Tuesday nights. I figured as much, but wasn't told.

It was sarcasm, I apologize.
No need, I enjoyed it either way, I just didn't want to react and end up being cold. :)

It had to do with the response I quoted not the OP!
Reading it made me want to throw buckets of paint on the wall and smear it all over the place.

Every time I have mentioned the need for more cars/content in GT Sport, I am gently reminded that the game was just released October 17. This is an excellent point. In other words, if 140+ cars and 17+ tracks can't keep us entertained for 29 days, we have much bigger problems. Seriously. More content is coming, and I think we need to learn how to enjoy what we have. Also, I think a lot of people are playing GT Sport for many hours every single day... they have obsessively wrung this thing out for all it's worth, already. Maybe find other hobbies? LOL :D

You are right. Its like one month since the game was released. So why people would moan about the car/track list?its not logical,I agree.
The problem here is not that people are not patient or they dont undestand that at some point PD will add some cars and some tracks.
The problem was/is that car/track list to begin with:the game was not released (that my opinion and I think many others agree with that) with a really good list in -both- terms of quality/quantily.Especially you need consider the fact that GT player base were used to -at least- a much "bigger" list.
I dont mind the "quantity" part personally but I do care about the quality of that list.
Too many fiction cars/tracks,older models that are not that "old" (Ferrari is a good example:2 cars in 4 categories),iconic (or) popular tracks that are not in the game (Le Man/Spa/Watkins Glen just examples) makes the car/track list a minus from day one.
People were talking about that even before the game came out (if its a good list or not).
So its not about people being "impatient",they were not "excited"/"thrilled" in the first place. And thats why with every "typical" server maintenace they'll expect (or ask) for car/tracks to be added.

Maybe find other hobbies?
If something like this starts to happen and people (in one way or another) start to find other hobbies (games or other) then you'll find that in the next 1/2 months the game lobbies are gonna be empty and the game would actually be a failure since its all about online.
An "e-sport" or online title needs people to be active every day. When the active players base drops a lot then its dead.

Also, there are probably a lot of people like myself who have done none of the Livery/Scapes/ Photos stuff, which would relieve some of the boredom. I have started to see some really cool custom liveries in the races that has motivated me to try to do my own.
