I'll be getting my memory card (with my 10m CR) back tomorrow, so I'll actually be able to join in on my own challenge.

WEEEEELAAAAAAA!!!

1.19.098 with my viper with stage 2 na tuneup and port and polish and clutch and flywheel..

THE LAP WAS ABOUT 100% CLEAN!

I love these challenges!
I have run three cars; A Viper, A Mustang SVT, and An RX-7 (type RZ).
My Mustang was the overall winner with a time of 1:12.725
Car.....31,180
Tires.....35,000
Clutch.....2,700
Flywheel.....1,050
Tranny.....10,400
Suspension.....17,000
Brakes.....4,700
Balancer.....10,400
Chip.....1,500
Stage 2 tune.....12,500
Muffler.....4,800
Wt Redux.....6,600
oil change.....250
For a Total of 138,080 cr spent.

The RX-7 was a blink behind the 'Stang with a time of 1:12.872
with total outlay of 140,080.

The Big Viper brought up the rear with a time of 1:14.517
with a total outlay of 149,830.

If you look at my mods for the Mustang. I followed pretty much the same pattern for each car. My priority was road-holding and drivetrain. I made my power last. The Mustang still had the most HP with 566, the Viper with 497, and the RX-7 with 433.
Of course the Mustang had the lowest purchase price also.
I may hit this later in the week with an EVO-7. It will give me almost 7,000cr more to play with. I may even be able to afford a Stage 3 turbo. 😈

I have another cheepie car I want to run. I'll wait to see what kind of response this gets before I do it.
I also think that with some fiddling with the springs, I can get a second off the Viper's time.

Well....yeah!!!
Run a 4.444 final drive ratio (unless the car you choose has a numerically higher final drive) and then play with the auto-wide setting to get to the top/or near the top of sixth gear at the end of the front straight.

As I said, I start building at the handling end of the equation. If you aren't on soft tires, Go back and rebuild. You can pick up a significant amount of time on a change of tires alone.

I want to enter this with my lancer...
I tried 3 laps around Midfield and the best I got was 1:17.100
The Tommi Makinen Lancer has 584 Hp and no changes to the settings yet...Im gonna shorten the gear ratios for a little more accel...
I tried again with the changed gears and got a 1:16.266 thats probably as good as I can go with the Lancer...

Try the EVO 7.
I know, it's ugly. But it is a good bit faster than the EVO 6.
I have revised my plan. I am gonna do a super-Cheep car.
But, I'm gonna wait till I have to defend the 1:12 I ran in the Mustang.😈

O yea...1:15.331 with the Z28 but the evo 7 is a ugly beast but you have to admit the evo 6 is sweet...The Tommi Makinen evo 6 in white with 5 spoke rims...hmmmm...
I was wrong 1:14.331 with the Lancer...Im gonna catch you gil...

Try the Camaro SS. It starts with a good bit more HP than the Z-28. Another good Cheepie is the MR-2 turbo (hint, hint):D

Keep trying!! I have TWO cars that have turned FASTER times than the 'Stang in the wings:devil:

Yes, What car? I may have to go back and re-tool my Viper for some SERIOUS speed.:D
