2001 worst year in music.

Punk is not punk if it is mainstream. The meaning of punk is playing in a bunch of small pubs that hold 100 people and cramming 700 people in there.

I'd say Green Day made punk mainstream. Possibly someone before them?

They aren't used to it you say? How is it any different than singing into a studio microphone? You are singing at the same volume.

You can like it if you want but I don't advise it.

It isn't fake music. It is still music, just not my style. Shouldn't be anyone's style actually. ;)

My sister likes all these new age bands like Linkin Park and Sum 41, I can't stand the noise they make.

Well, I thought 2002 was a good year for music.
Good new stuff from Kittie, Lacuna Coil, Deliquent Habits, Placebo, Tori Amos (and more, but it's early, and can't think) to keep me happy.

Yes, there was some utter crap. But ignore that, and hopefully it'll go away.

2001 was good. 2002 doesn't look as if it's going to better it though.

Word is new Linkin Park and Papa Roach albums will be landing on our shelves in 2002. *yawn*

I think most modern US/Can. music is crap.

But I had no idea Green Day was considered punk??

I have heard a bit of a Tool song, don't remember which, and I liked it.

Metallica has gone down, that song for "M.I. 2" stunk. I am not sure I like Fuel anymore.

I don't dislike Linkin' Park because it may not be original, screw that, it is the irratating sound of the guy that starts "singing," "Crawling in my skin!" He sounds awful.

Maybe I'm out of touch, but I think some of the worldy music you can hear is far better, from classical to J (Japanese)pop/anime. Porno Graffitti isn't bad.

Oh, and I like fantasy and midieval music, too.
