So as you may have seen from the "Show off your latest purchase" Thread i have purchased a new car.

I traded in my 2004 GMC Sierra and got myself a turbo!:dopey:

The pics I had posted in the other thread were just the pics I took off of the AutoTrader page for the car Here are my own. Any questions, just ask!

I Like the wheels. They dont stand out to much, but they do just enough to accent the car!

I am surprised by how awesome the sound system is, even for a 2002, its better than any system i have ever had and its stock!

The only issue is the cup holder, As you can see, The door is not fully closing and part of the cup holder comes apart.

The trunk is actually pretty big, Our Bonneville's is slightly bigger but it doesn't seem as cool if that makes sense.

You'll have to explain the plate. Nice purchase. I'd rock one.

....... I am a trekkie. I just love me some klingons!

there I said it! you all now have permissions to point and laugh lol

So, I figured i could go through my collection. Over the years i have owned a plethora of Autos.

In 1997 my Parents bought themselves a brand new Pontiac GrandAm GT

Not my car but the exact same color/style/brand/make/model/etc. I obtained the car as my first because the rents got one of these.

I was almost never allowed to drive it because I was messy with my car. and i was young and knew everything as most 16-17 year olds do. However, one week in late august the parents went on a Cruise to the Bahamas. They took the GrandAm... guess what i got to drive to school for a week...... Yes, I did feel like a badass..... until i couldn't get the trunk to close after I put the T-tops in the slots in the trunk.

Needless to say A few years later the parents divorced, and my Aunt ended up with the car.
(long story short ive lived with my aunt my whole life.)

She had a fight with her new boyfriend (as she did often) and drove home.... Drunk. I was PISSED to get a call at 3am telling me she totalled the car. i almost didn't believe it at first.

until I saw these.

Its a MAJOR surprise she didn't get hurt... AT ALL. no scratches, nothing.

She still had the work truck, but the poor pontiac went out the door.

I never mentioned, my aunt when I was about 8 bought one of these.

My dad got the car after she passed in October, which is fine, it needs a lot of work, she let it sit and never drove it after a while.

Now back to me. I still had the GrandAm, which i didnt like much, so i gave it back to my Aunt, and got myself a new 2004 GMC Sierra. (my aunt talked me into it, i never liked it much, I was a car guy, not a trucker.)

It was fun... for about 10 minutes like i said, also i had a truck now, helloooooo calls to help people move! (for free of course, gas isn't cheap now, it wasn't then.)

Needless to say i didn't like being talked into a truck, i didn't like trucks. I wanted a Jeep... but no, it wasn't a GM product, so i couldn't get it. instead i traded for this. and by trade, i gave her the truck, took BACK the GA, and then traded that for.....

2002 Cadillac SLS. I loved it. i was as these young hipsters would say "Big pimpin' "

The dealer screwed me on it though. They gave me 2k for the GA (which was fine, it needed hoses and other small things that was going to cost about $1500 to fix) and he said the car was $10,995 and ended up charging us over $20,000 for it. (we did get the extended warranty, and what not but it wasn't 10 grand....)

I tried to fight it, it failed.

So i sold Audrey. (i named it, i've named all of my cars lol)

in return the dealer gave me this (and an amazing deal on my trade! too, like 5 grand more than anywhere else and i went to like 7 places too)

I... LOVED IT! i drove the hell out of it, paid MOST of it off, i owed 6K and it was mine. forever. no lease, nothing.

I was dumb. just plain dumb. I lost my awesome job and i made a huge payment so Chrysler Financial would of left me alone for at least 8-12 months...... I kick myself every day for selling it, but i felt i had to, like i had no other option.

a 1986 Fiero GT replaced it. I wanted a car like hers, and i finally got one. it was a piece though and i didn't shop around like i should of. i went with the first one I found, which turned out to be a BADDDD decision.

within a week, the water pump went bad.

The window motor died, as the window was down, so it was stuck down, i drove it with the window down for almost a year (just parked it in the garage)

The window was fixed! Yay! then.....

Alternator passed on.

battery went kaputt

Cat got clogged, lost 90% of my horsepower, it used to do 0-60 in like 4 seconds now it took 4 minutes it felt like.

I was driving to my then girlfriends one day and half way there the rear wheel well started smoking HORRIABLY.... The Brakes went sour, as did the master cylinder.

I kicked myself. 10 times.

I sold the car shortly after that at a huge loss. but whatever. i now had no car, very little money, and no job.

I got a job finally and started working again, i still couldn't afford a car but my girlfriend did have one! so i was driving her '01 Malibu. it needed cosmetic work but ran like a champ.

i took the front bumper off. not on purpose that is. i was making a left turn in traffic, people were letting me go, i was staring at a gorgeous 69 Camaro and some lady doing 35 down the left turn lane clipped my front end.

the car got ****ed, but worked still so i drove it with no bumper.

when my now wife got her back pay from social security we finally bought s new car. well new used car.

2004 Pontiac Bonneville.

I wanted a 2002 Volvo S60 we test drove but she was at the time all american. as is her dad. "none of that foreign crap" he would always say, (along with other more derogatory terms)

He retired form GM so he is all american all the way and her mom took the Ford buyout so i was SOL. no pretty volvo for me.....yet

In october my aunt passed away. My dad got her car and let me have the truck i hated so.

It didnt last long though. it got kicked out the door last month and then we have the title of this thread. I finally got my Volvo.

and for future reference, the wife LOVES it. Sven is a welcome addition to my family!

Sven. good name for a volvo lol

Nice car history post , sorry for your aunt.

its ok. The alcohol was not fun. she had her own deamons which were pushed onto me almost every day. shes gone now, she got hit with the cancer and because of her heavy alcoholism her liver gave out.

its all good now though. i got the car i wanted, and i drive the hell out of it too! and will! and if i win that mega millions jackpot im still going to keep it!
