Barrichello on pole, Monty on the dirty side of the track. Check out Massa in 4th! And five different cars in the top 5 starting places. MS would have been 8th, but he changed his engine. Bruni didn't complete a qualifying lap, but is pretty much starting where he would have anyway...

Jaguar's swansong, too: One of the few times an F1 team can actually announce it's departure from the sport; usually the lifeline is cut away suddenly...

The first finale in South America, by the way.

Well I thought that was a pretty damn good race! JPM first (yesss!!!), Kimi 2nd (yesss!!!!) and Barrichello third on home soil. Webber was a bit of a muppet, kind of funny for him to sit on the hill for the entire race.

That race was so nostaulgic to me....Now the buildup to 2005, a few driver changes and technical regulations yet to be announced. One month rest before the teams start testing again, it never ends does it;)

STUPID, STUPID MONTOYA!!! I'd rather Kimi won, but what can you do about it?

Bad luck for Barrichello, the rain (or the lack of it) tricked him. Oh well, there´s always next year I guess...

lol, and what about the Jaguars, some good laughing with those two, nice way to say good bye to F1. Bye Jaguar, no one is gonna miss you!

I wonder what will they do though, because it has to be at least 20 pilots per race, and now with Jaguar giving up there´s only 18 left. Is there some new company coming to replace them?

Well, it was decent race in terms of finishing. I'm glad that M.Schumacher didn't win the final race to add insult to the other teams who only had half the points that he and Barrichello did. Alonso managed to hold off Ralph Schumacher, Sato, and Michael Schumacher for fourth. That's going to hopefully help my pitiful final standings for GilesGuthrie's FF1. Maybe next season will be much better for FF1 for me.

Apart from the first 7 laps, quite a boring race - was there any overtaking?

Webbers move was a bit of a "Takuma Montoya" effort. Sad for the team to end it like that. Did anyone else notie how bumpy Interlagos has become. I always remember it as being quite a smooth track

I'm actually going suprisingly well in that, 9th I think! Might drop a bit this race though, I don't think it was good for me.

I only watched the high-lights last night, it seemed pretty good from that, but that editing for you. Interlagos probably seems bumpy compared to the flat smooth 'Tielke'(sp?) circuits we get these days - the older tracks are so much more interesting to watch especially as far as watching the cars 'move' as they do on the 'rougher' tracks

We do get used to the "picture perfect" 90's circuits; remember that Interlagos was actually built in 1939, and was a staple of the F1-WC back in the 1970's. I recall watching footage of the '75 GP, and there several sections of track that were as bumpy then as they are now.

Actually, Interlagos has a lot of character...I've always liked it because it appears unique, not a cookie-cutter track. Never thought much about it not being a driver's circuit, but Steve Matchett's mentioned that the driver doesn't offer a lot of input to the setup of the car at Interlagos.

I enjoyed this race quite a bit, one of my top 3 or 4 for the season. The only thing that could have made the result better for me was having Trulli in 3rd...but you can't have everyting huh.

If McLaren can put a decent car on the grid from the first race next season JPM and Kimi are going to be a force to be reckoned with. Possibly a stronger driver combo than even Ferrari. Who knows what these new rules will do though.

All in all, great season. Sad to see it go.

I can't ever remember the words 'smooth" and "Interlagos" being used remotely near each other ever...hahaha.

But yes, it looked even more bumpy that ever.

The highest I ever got in FF1 was 17th overall. After about the 3rd race I fell about 50 places and have been hovering in the lower 60's upper 70's for the rest of the season.

Oh well. There's always next year.

I was there the whole weekend (with my Team boss) and yes, it's bumpier than last year.

Specially in trick parts like in Laranjinha, the main straight (The Café part and the end, going for the S do Senna).

I don't know what company the São Paulo Government are working with, but it's getting weird. For me the only solution is: Close the track for 4 months, get rid of the actual asphalt, work on terrain, and then with a newer company, put a completely new asphalt.

By the way, the Brazilian V8 Stock Car season finale will be on Interlagos. Good to know we'll have a tough work on the suspensions. :yuck:

Actually if i'm not mistaken, after they transfered the race from Jacarepaguá to Interlagos (still don't get why they did that), the track was good. The problem is that they are doing a ****ty job on the asphalt.

Jacarepaguá for example, had it's asphalt replaced for the last time on 1999. It's smooth as ever. Just check the MOTO GP race. I love the track. I live 5 minutes away from it, and always go there to watch regional races and time trials, and of course, to work on the cars when we are racing there.

I doubt it. I mean after Rubhino was running his mouth about being better than Schumi. He will have a lot to prove. He'll be trying to drive out of his skin, next year. McLaren will be right up there again though. I'd be more worried about how many Shrinks they have on the team. After Montoyas b!tching in the first race. I think that they'll have to hire another one.

Yep, 9th for the season, I'm proud! http://ff1.giles-guthrie.com/

Hopefully I can put a good team together next year!

But the JPM/Kimi combo is going to be so much fun to watch. JPM with his constant drama and Kimi with his utter aloofness. Complete polar opposites. On the track I really feel you couldn't have a more solid combo. Kimi is calm and steady (95% of the time) and JPM has moments of absolute brilliance and domination. If both guys have a good car and have goos weekends watch out.

Wel all know Schumi is in a league of his own. I rate Kimi next and JPM and Rubens are about equal, if anything JPM's aggressive-ness gives him the edge. So between Ferrari and McLaren (assuming they both put strong cars on the grid from race one) it will be a dog fight next season. I expect to see Williams and Renualt fighting it out for 3rd with BAR occasionally getting into it.

Best part of the race is when Montoya smoked Barrichello in the head with the bottle of champagne...that was funny as hell !

BY the way, Jacques Villeneuve with Sauber, 05 season,,,,Number 1 !!!!
