Ask anyone who has worked on these cars, and they will tell you Ferraris are built with fairly poor quality. Some of you may have seen that V8 Aztec show car in the past year or so? I was talking to a guy from that garage, who has worked on Ferraris in the past, and he was downright astonished how they don't just fall apart. Sure, Porsches quality has gone down over the years (interiors?) but they are lookin' good AND they can make a better performing car than a Ferrari (in a class above it).

And you may argue the "friend of a friend of a friend said that" with my points, here's a personal example. My dad's friend (not just some guy, a friend for over 20 years) owns an 89 Testarossa. He just got it this year (after his previous 308GTS quattrovalvole). I was riding in it with him, and he would never use 2nd gear. After asking, he tried it, it just wouldn't go. Apparently, it has to heat up (takes a good 10 minutes) and this isn't an isolated problem. Most Ferraris of that era have quite the same problem.

And the mention of "limit production". Well, I see far more 360s than 308s AND 328s, which combined are more than the production run of 360s.

Wow. You wouldn't have to twist my arm to get me to drive that car. I love the back end of it the most. Simply stunning. 👍

I'd still buy his and hers SRT-10s over it though simply for the value factor.

I don't know anyone who works on Ferrari's for a living, but my uncle has owned two in his past, and he has told me of the problems he haves; then again, he can fixe "some things". He just recently told me he is awaiting his Ford GT, not just because it's a awesome performance machine, but "he can work on it himself"...hehe :sly: They are still excellent performers though, but cost money, even for maintence. I wounder how much a tune up cost on a 12cylinder? :ill:

True I guess, but I still feal that Ferrari has good respect for their heriatage...so far I guess. Maybe they will come out with a SUV some day, Lamborghini is.

I thought all the Ford GT's had been sold and delivered now? Take a picture of it when he gets it will you I really like thoes cars.

The back looks like it's just been blatantly ripped off an unsuspecting Enzo.

It looks like a toy to me. I was never the biggest fan of the modenas headlights, and these are a little better, but on the same front end shape as the modena it looks akward.
I do not like the shutlines on the rear of this car, I think something more elegant could have been implemented.
It looks to me like this car was rushed through the styling department, possibly because Ferrari was feeling pressure from Ford and Lamborghini (and to some extent Porsche) to have a new small car on the market.
Its a shame that it doesnt have the horsepower or torque of its rivals, but thats not a great setback.

Will F430 be able to beat new NSX-R in the Nurburgring Circuit?
(F420 is beaten by the 280ps NSX-R. The result is not changed after interchanging drivers.)

Lamborghini already has an SUV from the 80's that sells for about $70,000.00, its called the LM002.

Not really odd; it wasn’t designed for practical use, nor for consumers at the beginning. Like the AM General’s Hummer, the LM002 was designed fro military usage; however, it latter was sold to several private customers for there fun. Very rugged, hard, bullet proof (maybe not the countach engine :P) smuck em up.

There are slightly different variants along the time span. The LMA002 was for the United States (not the “A”). The Cheetah, which there was only one built and it was totaled in a accident and no longer exists (I suppose it was some sort of prototype). The LM004, and the LM002 Paris Dakar which has a slight off-road/rally race history; don’t know how well it did.

I find this SUV different. They stopped production sometime in the early 1990’s (92 I think?), but with the Audi corporation, Lamborghini will have another SUV come back. I just don’t like the fact that rich people buy these types of vehicles and don’t take them on long journeys, just to the local supermarket. Like the Cayenne, it’s built with off-road capabilities along with sports car like characteristics, why not spend the money one something that can go faster and has even more character (and is rarer I suppose, at least here in Indiana--more Cayeene’s than ANY 911’s :( ) if you aren’t going back riding?

I guess I will never understand.

Yeah, I know all of that. Still doesn't mean it's not odd. Although there were some very strange Concept cars at the Sydney Motor Show.

it had some VERY edgy styling, with strange curves accenting them. The design cues seemed almost contradictory when you looked @ em, but then managed to make it look badass and tough and rugged (and it was!). I heard it was produced for the AMERICAN military, but as soon as the HMMV came out, the army just snatched them up because of American patriotism...or some crap like that. I suppose this thread has officialy been hi-jacked.

Of course old Ferraris have that problem, it's part of the heritage. Any Ferrari enthusaist knows that your car won't shift until it's heated up! :D

Ferrari's build quality is excellent, in my opinion. Everything is snug and works just fine in all our cars.

No offense, but I must say I have a closer experience than your 'dad's friend's car'. I ride in a 360 every other day at least, and did so for the 355 before we sent it off, and the 348 before that. etc etc. :) Our F1 trannies (355 and 360S) are flawless and work just fine.

only 167? that's actually pretty good considering a 575M Maranello is like 230. 120 in Arizona huh? In downtown Guelph, ON, canada you can't get one for under 350. We've been trying to sell ours and it's been idling at $498,000.00

WTF? i actually clicked that link it says 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. Uh hello? $167,000.00 F430 vs. $650,000.00 Enzo? I know what I would choose. and an 11.7s 1320? Doesnt the Enzo run like an 11.3 or something? This is effed up.

Enzo runs high 10s and low 3s (3.3, 3.2). The 430 is just plain fast. Same weight, only 170hp less. It's not messed up, just fast! :D

This car is gonna cost us a lot more than a 360 because Bush effed the dollar up so much. Probably close to 200 for the Spider. The coupe runs ~185 with F1 and carbon brake system. Despite owning two F1 cars my dad is returning to 6-speed because of the high cost and he misses his gated shifter. :)

The only 3's i've heard the Enzo run are 3.7's and 3.5's, never a 3.2 or 3.3. And I heard the 1320 was 11.1/11.4

[Edit] Car And Driver could probably get it in the high 1's and high 9's with the enzo![Edit]

Just on hand, I've got an Enzo here that runs 3.4 in MT and a 3.3 from R&T, my most trusted car magazine.

To be honest, I don't believe their numbers either. I expect consistent 3.8s 3.9s. We'll see, we may get a few 3.7s here and there. This car is just so dang fast! Imagine a 2900lb 520hp 430CS... :P

If they can extract 520hp out of an atmospheric 4.3L for a street car that's still driveable, well... that'd be mighty impressive.

MT... trustworthy? Hahahaha.

Well what mag IS trustworthy? We've already eliminated Motortrend, Road and Track, Car and Driver, and thanks to M5Power, Consumer Reports.

Road and Track is by far my most trusted car magazine. Not always my favorite to read, but really a classic magazine. Much higher-quality than the other (CD and MT) magazines.

BTW, I'm sure Ferrari could get 515hp from the 4.3 litre and a ~4.45 litre upgrade could bring 525. Ferrari is magical. ;)
