Cayennes can have it... A real porsche should should not be loaded down with this crap...

As i said if you want to be comfortable and stuff get a cayenne or a boxster... This will aid porsche in maintaining the purity of the 911...

I love all you cayenne owners...

We paid for your 997 911!

Though I'm not a part of that 'we' since I bought mine used from a Bentley dealer in Illinois. Though I paid MSRP for a Cayenne Turbo with 6000 miles on it - so I'm doing my part to keep resale alive! Not that resale's probably much of a factor of prospective Cayenne Turbo buyers - more like, "Range Rover is easier to say, but Jeeves prefers this - let's buy both."

Cayenne owners. Clearly.

Given the profit Porsche is pulling down on Cayennes, a few thousand probably paid for quite a bit of development on the 911. Porsche couldn't be a two-vehicle make forever.

Not to be picky or anything but for a while in the 80's they were making at least 3 vehicles makes and at one period 4... That is counting overlap...

911 rear flat 6... light... sleek and sexy

928 front engine grand tourer with a v8... heavy... sleek in a spacey kinda way...

What! Are you crazy???

If they go back to fr coupes they better be cheaper than a freaking boxster... What should be done to fill the boxster space is create a smaller, lighter, and stiffer MR machine with more power available to buyers... Use the freakin 911 eninges in it for god sake... Shouldnt be a difficult redesign...

So in summary...
prettier (those lights have to go and its ungodly/ugly shape has to be redesigned making the car smaller should help a lot)
faster
lighter
more powerful

Last I read Porsche is well on its way back to a three car lineup (plus that truck, whose name will not be uttered here).

-997 and variants
-New Boxster, in coupe and roadster format
-New "928", large 2+2 GT with the V8 from the truck

While it would be nice to see Porsche add more content into the Boxster (like, oooh say 50 extra horsepower), I don't feel it is excessively heavy. The 986 body compares well with the Z4 and is much lighter than the SLK and TT. A 45-55k, a buyer will expect a certain amount of luxury, and stripping the Boxster out isn't going to help things.

Now, a Boxster Club Sport or RS, say packing 300ish horses and weighing in at 2700-2800 lbs for 50-55 grand US would be very, very nice. Pity it will never happen at that price point.

Are you counting the 959 and variations on the same vehicle?

The cayenne was the greatest thing to happen to Porsche in a long time. It increased profits enough to allow Porsche some leeway during downtime the last year or so. some of you moron purists seem to forget the reason car companies exist. TO MAKE MONEY. Cayenne makes $$$.

Oh yea, pardon me. I forget I need to be excited everytime a company needs to make money. I love it when something is marked up and overpriced. I'm so thrilled about a Porsche Exclusive $3,000 interior trim kit, a $250 shift knob and $100 for a painted wheel logo cap, I think I'll go crap myself with glee, you nitwit.

Ummm..this is kinda on and off topic at the same time, did anyone watch the moncao F1 race, they advertised Porsche and they showed the logo and I noticed something, the horse on the logo has seemed it has changed, I thought the horse was on its hinde legs almost vertical?Well they showed the logo and the horse was on all 4's, is it just me or did porsche actually changed the stance of the horse?

Ok, lol, I was talking about the Porsche emblem, didn't the old emblem have the horse up on two legs? Well while they showed the race they advertised Porsche and the horse on the emblem was in a different posititon it was on all fours, did anyone else notice this?
