I don't see why people have a problem with the design, it's a modern interpretation of the Shelby Cobra Daytona with modern technology. Just like the Ford Shelby Cobra concept from Detroit 2004, and the new Ford GT.
Yes, we know what the purpose of the car is. Its just ugly, thats all. I applaud them for trying to bring back these icons, its a great thing for the automotive world. But, as I said, what they did with the GT was great. They knew the design was great, so they didn't mess with it. Little changes here and there, but easily recognized as a new GT40. But this, doesn't quite do it for me. To me, they just didn't get it right. Thats all. Just my opinion, but I don't like it.

Well, every car has aerodynamics, be it good or bad ;). You could stick a wing on the back of a hummer and call it aerodynamics :sly:.

the real sad part about that is there is someone that probably actually has done that and thought that it had "aerodynamics".

I'd find proof but I'm too lazy right now.

Wow, it looks like Ford designers actually copied a classic body style that's been around for 40 years! For a car that's meant to be a modern interpretation of that same 40 year old car!

Note the plates on the left and right of the Kamm tail are vents that are merely covered on this model...just like the vents on the GR-1! And the sets of two taillights have just been made into a single vertical unit...wow!

Are you being sarcastic? If so, i don't see your logic. Many new cars are new representations of older counterparts. What's wrong with taking styling cues froma car you're supposed to base your design on?

It was sacrasm...

I don't like the color, but the car is pretty attractive, to me at least. I don't think it needed the wacky doors, just keep it conventional, but I'll take it the way it is, I guess...:D

I saw it on today's NBC coverage of the IAS from Detroit, and it looked even better. I still don't like the paint, but I'll see when they get real colors...

About the paint - they said 2300+ hours of polishing and buffing to get it to look like that! 2300 hours! That is definately respectable to put that many man hours into a concept car. . . 2300 hours!!
