YSSMANEDIT: The front straight at Grattan is "only" 3200 ft in length...
Complaints about the CLS55 were that it felt slow, and thus acted that way. It didn't like the quick transitions the track give, and the transmission was reluctant to do anything in some situations. Grip was there, back, and there again (.93g), but the steering was too heavy to give that feeling.
The STS-V was mostly praised for it's cheap price, which allowed to to pass the CLS55 for 2nd place. But the problems were mostly with the excessive up-and-down motions of the suspension (even when in competition mode), and excessive break dive. But with the cheaper price and overall comparable performance, it won over a few hearts.
Of the M5, it would seem that the complaints have been the same at every magazine: Too stiff of a ride, poor shift quality SMG transmission, and the GD iDrive... Other than that, perfect for a track day or a sportlich drive down the road.
STS-V fights with price 👍
