A rather amazing fact...

I'm gutted that Croatia are out... that's 4 of my 5 bets gone. Podolski for golden boot is also looking ropey now, after his failure to score in the last two games

After having to go through almost 110+ minutes into the game without a goal, I thought it was one of the most boring game ever in the tournament, but then Croatia had a breakthrough and scored a goal near the end of extra time. I was happy because then I get to go to sleep, but Turkey manage to equalize during injury time! WTF!!!!! Then it was penalty, and boy oh boy did Croatia fail!!!!! They missed 3 goals during that penalty (and 2 of them were the players mistake! ) and that was more than enough to let Turkey go into the semis. They truly deserved it I say......

Okay, before I jinx the next game, I want to say that Russia will win the next game!!!!!

I sure hope not. Has Portugal was eliminated, I am now supporting Holland, because I like they’re football (they have a type of football preatty similar to Portugal). But we never know, the ball is rounded.

Meh, I don't really like how Holland play. I think Spain was better and have more similar style of playing to Portugal than Holland. But we'll see, Holland is a good team and with so many talents in their squad, it is certain that they have the man power to overcome any obstacle. But I was always rooting for Spain if Portugal didn't make it...... and besides, Spain has Fernando Torres and David Villa!!!!!

All I know is Spain has their work cut out for them. Italy, then (hopefully) Holland, then Germany or Turkey.

I will be rooting for whoever comes out of the last four slots, unless it's Russia.

I think Turkey should go all the way, based on their determination so far, even if they are out people (scouts) will be paying a lot more attention to the players in the future.

I just think it's the fact that people in this area think everyone should watch hockey and baseball, while not being able to appreciate proper football. I met one guy when I popped into a sandwich shop to grab lunch that said "Go Netherlands" in a rather thick Dutch accent.

But ya in Michigan when people see bright orange they think it's a deer hunting get up.

How haven't Holland scored from one of Van der Vaarts freekicks, they've been brilliant. I'm rooting for Holland in this game even though Russia have just scored.

I'm sort of wondering that myself. The Netherlands have had numerous opportunities they just haven't finished through on them The Russian goal though was at least a well played one, even with a bit of luck.

I think Russia have played a blinder so far - way better than they have been in the tournament so far. They've certainly been more direct, and have taken more pot shots, whereas Holland appear a bit laboured. Still, I'd like to see them get a goal back soon!

I blame it on the Dutch front. Van Persie is just walking around... WTF? He could've scooped up the loose ball that Ruud let go but he just stood there and the Russians started the counter-attack.

The Russian strikers have been attacking at full speed for all of extra time, while the Dutch are just walking.

edit: Okay, Russia are through. And it's good that the two scorers were #s 7 and 10 who've been playing the hardest all the time.

I wanted Holland to win, but Russia deserved it, Arshavin was brilliant all game. Van PErsie was pretty poor, he didn't beat many defenders, he didn't play team mates in at good opportunities either. Russias 2nd goal was a great cross in,both the 2nd and 3rd goal though were largly helped by Ooijers very poor defending.

Russia played very well. Netharlands was very slow.
Russian players are 22 years old average. they are very young,raw but they got no geat experience at all. but a few years later they will have. I believe Russia is future world champion.
