GT Pro: You also voted for two of mine - which one did you mean to vote for? - so we can factor it in at the end.

I'm a little flattered... I got 4 votes from him. Not exactly how the poll is mean to work but

I think the F40 shot would be so much better without the over-edited HDR-ish stuff. It just spoils a bit the picture IMO. So, I am not surprised at all, the R8 headlights is a great piece of photograph, it has a great mood, subtle edit and it is very eye catching (just though I would drop my contribution). 👍
I don't know why everyone thinks it's HDR. The F40 picture is just the brightness turned up to bring out the colors.

He only posted 1 photo so it's presumed that is the one to be used. This isn't for voting in the photographers, it's simply to help decide on their most popular of submitted photos.

Thank you :D

But seriously, if there was a month to take out, if possible... it should SO be December, even though I like Christmas because tryptophan is bloody awesome (especially because it's from TURKEY, lovely stuff) - it'd still be an easy way out of the 2012 crap.

Again, I'm dearly sorry to digress with my weird mannerisms that is not related to the topic at hand to begin with lol. Hopefully I didn't piss people off by them reading all of this for nothing. Just an opinion ... XD

I have sent LongbowX a selection of shots, after he was able to Convince me.

Note: The shot that gets chosen, may get a final clean up.

Sorry about the multi-voting, and I acknowledge that the voting is set-up in such a way that all photographers at least have one of their photos published, but some of them I just could not decide between at all. 80Y, I'd pick your 3rd photo (Ferrari 360) if I absolutely had to make a live-or-die choice.

May I ask what needed to be convinced?

It isn’t? I have to apology myself then, it seems I was mistaken. But the picture still screams HDR to me, the glowing and too bright shadows, wierd reflections on the car, the weird glow in the overall picture, it seems a bit over-edited in the overall.

_____

Since I gave feedback to one of the artists, I though I would give my feedback of my voting preference to the other artists.

Firstly, and in overall, I must say, there is some amazing pictures in the poll, and some very hard choices.

Syntax Error
I ended up voting for the Peugeot, after an hard deliberation between the second and the last picture. What grabbed me in the Peugeot picture was the great and soft tones in it. There is really something behind a simple (not quite) photograph of a Peugeot making a curve, the photograph itself shows youth, freshness, something new. Quite ideal for a month like January when a new year begins.
The second picture has a great composition, and it is a great black and white picture, but it feels kind of empty compared with the first one.
The last one, is also very cool, but (correct me if I am wrong) that is a model car isn't it?

Homeforsummer
My vote wen't for the eight picture. I think it is a great pieace of photograph, with great composition and perfect contrast. It was an instant vote.

SPhilli911
It was a thought one, between the two last pictures, but I ended voting in the last one. The Red Lambo in the Black & White background is a great picture, I love the contrast and the foggy background, but it has too much noise for me. The last one combines a sharp and clean picture with a great and mysterious look of an empty street with a lonely and great car, "sitting" around. I just wished the sun was a bit down, behind the building.

Giles Guthrie
The moment I saw the last picture, I knew I had to vote for it. It's true, I love scenery shots, and maybe that was my little biased, but I think (and seem to be the only one to) that it is a picture that combines the good about the automotive photography with a amazing scenery.

Scaff
Both the first and the third pictures are amaizing. I like the angle and the brightness of the first shot, but I had to vote for the third one. I just love the composition, it's so perfect, it even screams speed to me.

Nismo_Skyline
I voted for the fourth picture. From the set of pictures it was the one that grabbed my attention more. I love the detail in the wired headlights, though I have to say, that the picture could use a little cropping.

Speedster_502
I instantly voted for the third picture. It's so great, the linear horizontal end road line, the blur on the trees, the sharpening of the cars, it's so amazing.

McLaren
Has I already said, the R8 picture it's amazing, very subtle, very calm a yet very powerful and eye candy photograph.

Moglet
I always loved that last picture of the lambo rim of yours. It's really a perfect picture, perfect yellowish light, perfect fitting of the rim in the frame of the photograph, what can I say, it's perfect.

80Y 2C2
The last picture made it for me. A black & white picture of a pit stop. I love the angle that you portrait the picture with. I have to say, it is a quite different picture from the «rest of the set».

LongbowX
That fourth picture is really something. I love how sharp the car is vs. the motion blurred background. Aslo, only having the picture in Black, White and Red tones its a great addition too.

Thanks! Two people (well, one of them an agency) inspired me to do motosport photography. Darren Heath, and McKlein (the agency). This one is an homage to McKlein. If you like it, you should check out their work at www.mcklein.de

You know, you voted for 4 of mine too. You're going to have to tell us which of every one you voted multiple for you choose. Otherwise, we'll just have to disqualify all of your votes. Which I'm tempted to do anyway, since you obviously didn't read the instructions. Which is says to do in the thread title.

You voted multiple on: Syntax Error's, SPhilli911's, Scaff's (which you voted for all 4!), NISM0_SKYLINE's, McLaren's (which you voted for all 5!), Moglet's...80Y's and mine.

Also, sennarose88 - you voted for two of mine. The Ferrari and the E-Type. You've also voted for two of Scaff's (the last 2) - and his name.

Thanks very much. I myself am surprised how well this shot turned out. Definitely one of my best panning shots. And I was finicking with the grass, because I felt it was too distracting. I turned the saturation down on the grass, and I really liked how it turned out.

Thanks dude. 👍

Definitely not a model in the last shot, it was just a car sitting in the paddock at a reace track a few weeks back.

Thanks nicknamealguem 👍 I try to feature a broad array of angles and PP styles, just so there's something for everybody.

I've never seen Syntax's shot as a model car.

I would like the first one of Syntax's more if the garage is open, as then it would look like the car is nipping into a carpark. It could also be interpreted as a static shot because of the wheels, but I always see that shot and think the car is moving, yet it is turning into a garage door :P.

I'd like to ask people a question to see what everyone thinks.

How bothered are people about there being quite an overlap between some images in the calendar? So far McLaren's Audi R8 shot is his most popular and in the separate poll TVR&FF's R8 shot is also his most popular. We also have a photograph of a wheel being Moglet and NISM0_SKYLINE's most popular shots. I'm not sure if it's just me being picky, but it'd be nice to not have more than one very similar shot or shot of the same car occupying space in the calendar when there are that many great shots to choose from.

It's why I'm actually kind of glad people have been voting for my VW image rather than the single-seater, as that shot and Speedster502's would both feel too similar to me to want to see them both in the same calendar.

It might just be me but as well as choosing which photos from people I liked the best, I tried to vote for something a bit different from each person too so there's some variety in the calendar. A full car shot from Syntax, a scenic B&W from SPhilli911, close-ups from Scaff and NISM0, a single seater from Speedster, a Ferrari from McLaren, a driving shot from Moglet, a moody paddock scene from 80Y and an action-packed panning shot from LongbowX.

Thoughts?

] You've also voted for two of Scaff's (the last 2) - and his name.

Whoops, I don't know how that happened. Seems like I wasn't the only one, though Anyways, if you delete my votes I shall re-vote in the correct format- probably the easier solution.

I sort of raised this with the issue of cars (not really themes and angles) but I think the idea was palmed. I reckon there sort of is enough variety because there are heaps of angles and PP takes that are out there.

What I did is vote for the most dramatic. The shots that blow me away. I have to say that your single seater shot fitted that very nicely. I'm not sure if we need to coordinate types of photos so that people don't come to the party with the same outfit (so to speak). I reckon people voting for their favourite would be good enough. I don't know about other people, but when voting, I tried to get variety, but it was really down to how striking the shot was. I can truthfully say that every shot I voted for I asked myself how I would like it hanging on the wall for a month, and voted accordingly. 👍

Actually, the first part:

...is what applies to you. So that was a bit more of a accident. If you do have a desire to participate properly, please state exactly which of each you want to vote for and we will consider adding your vote.

I'm not terribly bothered as there is going to be a large gap between the months when we actually have the calendar in its physical form. However, I did say the artist has an override (I mentioned this before...). If the artist feels strongly enough that another image should be in, then they can dismiss the results of the voting. That's giving a lot of power to the artist, I know - but I trust the contributors enough to know that they won't abuse it. TVR&F_F's voting isn't done yet, so we'll see what happens. If TVR&F_F or McLaren don't think they want two R8's, then either of them can override - but I don't think they will. Also, yes Moglet and NISMO both have a wheel. But it is a different wheel. :sly: .And they are January and December, respectively - so there is fair amount of time in between them.

I also thought of being a snob and just having us contibutors decide, but I scrapped that, as other people buying it is more important than what we think.

I've never seen Syntax's shot as a model car.

The car looks so tiny from that angle, and the the ground space looks huge compared to the car. Also, the blur helps a bit for this effect. It's weird, as much I would want to believe that is real, every time I see it, it looks like a model car to me.

Voted, tough choices to make:tup: There are some really technically correct shots there, but they don't all have the special something to get my vote that something slightly less technical has done.
I can already see the calender coming together, this was part of the reason I chose some of the shots. Tried to get a variety but not losing the flow.
BTW, how do we see which shots where voted for by athe voter?

Gotcha 👍 I'd personally be a little disappointed if shots were a little too similar to each other but at the end of the day, it's what the majority want :)
