Coming back to this to see if a bit of time allows it to settle in my mind... but the wheels/tyres still look wrong on that car. In addition to having too much dish, there's even a hint of stretch in the rears... it's a shame as the rest of the car does look pretty sweet... but that wheel/tyre combo looks far too 'aftermarket' to me.

That's nothing that the aftermarket can't fix though. But I agree that the wheels probably should be more true to the original car.

I would expect that the key challenge for Singer is that almost doubling the power (vs the original 911RS) requires fitting much wider tyres to avoid traction issues. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the original RS has something like 225's on the rear and 205's on the front, on 15's or maybe 16's. Moving to 275/17's on the back means there's an and extra 2" of tyre width to manage... hence the silly amounts of dish. No excuse for the stretch though.

EDIT: Found some more photo's and also a predicted asking price... $275,000 ~ £175k or €190k.

No pricing strategy set out as of yet, but I'm going to assume hell yes.

The word around Pelican Parts (where we adore air-cooled cars & there's a LOT of knowledgeable Porsche people there), this car will cost around 275k. Depending on the specs, of course.

It cost around 75k to build the engine alone.

I have always been a fan of old-school 911, 1960's, 1970's, 1980's...
and to have 6 speed in it, is just awesome, with all the modern amenities...

I wish i had that extra cash to purchase me one of those! 👍

but right now, i am just :ouch: :nervous: for being bumped out and salivating

Deadliest rear seats ever.

The lack of back support even looks painful for me.

Throw in some back support for the rear seats and I might consider this car.:dopey:

But I might just go for a modern 2011 Porsche. That is if this kit car isn't insanely priced.

Everytime I see a picture of a Singer I come over all funny :D

The attention to detail is just monumentally stunning.... I lust after the Singer in the same way as I do the GT3RS, or a 964RS.

I like the way this is a replica, but not a replica. Mainly because I would feel weird driving around in a replica 911 but this is more an updated version but an old look.

Ignorant Question What does the Singer in the name actually stand for ?
Looks to just be the name of the studio. Though, it may also be the name of the man originally behind the company, as the man releasing most of the info on this car is Creative Director, Rob Dickinson.

1) do want

2) I'm surprised they put back seats in it. That's a dangerous place to be with that roll bar being there, completely unpadded.

I'm a mahussive Porsche-phile, but I hate this car. It could be so good but isn't.

The engines is to big, the front bumper is horribly mis-matched and the rear spoiler/wing doesn't look very nice at all. Add to that the fact it tries to sit wide like a 911R but doesn't pull it off as elegantly.

I'd rather buy a late 60's 911S. (+rep if you can name the film)
