2011 Invitational LMP League Showdown

The 16th slot on the race server should be someone with a capture card who can stream the event live on UStream or Justin.tv

hi I'm from BKs series. I have the perfect pp limits for these cars to be most fair.

if we are using 700pp for the base line, then their are some cars that are going to be quicker than others.

I race in another series on a different website and these pp limits seem to be good. Not perfect but very good (still in first season, which is a test with these PP limits)

here we go:

for some reason I can't put it as image on here as I'm on a stupid touchpad lol

cheers bombe

I'll say again these pp figures are still in their first series so they are not perfect but nothing is lol

Thanks a lot bombe, those are more accurate i'd say, let's go with that.

10pm in Ohio must be like... 5 in the morning in Denmark.

Since our series have Europeans (or, Brits + me) the race should be a lot earlier if our series should use the best drivers.

- Don't believe you are allowed to have that website URL in the thread title

You're not...thus, edited.

SpeedEnergy: Do not add it back again, or we'll delete the thread. Having the link in your signature is enough.

Def needs to be a weekend, wtih @ least 2 weeks notice so guys can make time. Also

Also Afternoon time USA so its not late in Europe.

it's just the name of the race. sorry, i'm not on here much, won't happen again.

Alright, how's this? Sunday Jan 1st, 2 or 3pm EST

i'd also say 2009 track w/ chicanes and no weather, and no time progression, all daylight race

Triple post, not good.
We need at LEAST a day to night cycle.

A full 24-hour day/night cycle has to be included....the danger of night is part of Le Mans.

That said, weather is now completely non-random, so that might be okay to have off.

what i meant to say was how about the weekend after new year's (jan 7-8th) at 2 or 3 pm, and yes, we will now feature a 24-hour time cycle.

Yea for sure you need a day night cycle .

For qualifying it should be a different day of the race. Because the race is so long it gives time to tweak the car if needed before the big event

1 hour quali session. The same time as the race a week prior.
Or 2 different sessions at different times with the best times added from each sesion.

Obviously qualifying would have to be monitored by stewards

qualifying needs to be at night !

Just throwing ideas out there .... :D

Your ideas are all good bermukid, that's what we are gonna do, except I plan to qualify in the daytime.

What about assists and boost? On or off?

1 quality at night & 1 during the day. Both added together?

No active steering
No skid recovery

TCS allowed
ABS Allowed

No boost
Draft Low

We need a combo of PP / HP and weight penalties to balance out.

Also since its 4 guys on a team. What 4 cars do we want.

I recommend
'05 R8 , Bentley Speed 8 , 908 , GT One, or R10 or 787b

Considering that it's La Sarthe, the GT-One should be the flagship car, and also use the Bentley, the 908, and the 2005 R8/787B Audi is a monster in the corners, but if it's much slower than the 787 in a straight line, which I doubt, then consider the 787, but methinks the Audi is better.

Also, driving aids are for children. Do away with them!

SpeedEnergy, if you guys don't have a lot of LMPs: get them.
I think you mentioned that you mostly have Bentlies and 787Bs, but if we want it to be a good-looking race, get GT-ONEs, 908s etc.
--

I think we shouldn't have any Audies, they're too good. Jamman has won the last two races by a combined 3:30 to number two in the R8 Oreca... that should be a warning signal. It's bigger wins than AS and I had in the other Audi.

787B + GT-ONE + Bentley + 908
--

I have no ideas for qualifying other than I hope it would be as little time comsuming as possible, but still fair.

Sunday 8th sounds good to me, we have a race the 7th in our series (which I will miss though).

I think that we should do the three premium cars, the 787B, the 908, and the R10 (this car would pretty much be it's own class since it handles so poorly). And one other car, I'd say the Speed 8, but I'm not so sure.
Are we decided on four cars on track?

I like the idea of a day qualifying session and a night with the times added together, it might be kind of annoying though.

As for aids, I'd say all off except TCS (but limit this to say three maybe?) and perhaps leave the driving line line on (but I'm not so sure about that).
ABS have a max of 1?

And as for setting an exact date, I don't think we should set one yet.
We should shoot for Christmasish, but not set it for Christmasish.

well, i really don't care who runs what car, i want to run my 787b and the rest of my league wants to run Speed8's so, if you guys want to also, that's fine by me.

What time on the 8th, 3pm EST? this way everyone has plenty of time.

Let's just stick with the daytime quals so it's easier and we get through it faster

Gatrs I think the 787b, 908, Speed 8, and Gt-One would be perfect. Give the Speed 8 about 30kg and the GT-One around 15 less HP and there's your 4 cars.

this is actually a good idea, i think we should go with these cars, BUT an overall PP limit of 700 should be fine

If all 4 are at 700 PP, the 908 will be useless, I have to check out the 787 at 700 PP. I'll drive the 4 of the cars at 700 pp at la sarthe today and post my results.

for my league, the 787B is the car i use, and we have a league restriction of 700pp, I know the gt one, speed 8, and 787b are good, just test the 908 against them. If the 908 is to powered down, we can replace it with the Toyota Minolta

That's not gonna work

My league guys want to run the red & yellow 2001 Audi R8s
