Yeah, it was gonna be revealed before the NAIAS. I'm certainly looking forward to checking it out at the show though. If it offered a -V version in a wagon trim - I'd be all over it.

I want to see how bad it is, every time Cadillac shoots for a German competitor they fail pretty hard. Sure they build faster cars but at the expense of everything else.

I think I'm most excited about the Fusion and the Dart since both cars show what Detroit really needs right now. If they are as good as they look both companies have a hot seller on their hands.

When the current CTS first showed up, it was definitely the most-competitive car they've ever had with the Germans and Japanese. Through the updates that they've applied, I'd still consider it a decent option in a very competitive class.

The ATS will be the kind of Cadillac we've been hoping for since the start of the Art & Science scheme. Being near-enough the same size as the 3er, within 40 lbs at the curb, and offering a similar variety of engine options... It is going to be a very interesting comparison. I think the only short-sight is the use of the 2.5L I4 to attract value buyers, but even at 200 BHP, it should be enough to keep people happy.

The big question is how they're going to do the V-Series model. It could have a V8. But how likely is a turbo V6 these days? Hard to say...

I'm excited to see what Chevrolet is bringing to the show. The likelihood of a V8 coupe or sedan seems high, the Chevelle thing kicking around quite a bit... Maybe a civilian version of the Caprice PPV? We're overdue for the new pickup trucks as well, the successor to the GMT900 seems somewhat likely.

The Pathfinder lost all it's SUV /off-road look.

It never really had one. Unless you are thinking of the Xterra, which is different.

I still love the current Pathfinder, especially with the available 5.6L.

While I agree, it was getting a bit old. Design wise, this one looks pretty good. Although it is officially a unibody SUV now. :indiff:

I was think of both the Xterra and Pathfinder as the same.
Not really off road look but the SUV look it had, it had has more of a crossover look to it.

It's nice to see Ford bringing European design to the US lineup. I think they will do really well in next few years.

I think I like the Ford Fusion. It may have designs cues from most European car makers like the Aston front grille, Maserati tail-lights, Audi A7 like side, familiar looking head-lights and a strong appearance like a Citroen C5. I think it suits well with the name Fusion as the design is all a fusion of those what has been mentioned

I like it, honestly...

The ATS is definitely something big as it's taking up the competition of a 3-Series, C-Class and A4. From what I heard, the CTS were quick but their quality isn't of the Germans. I guess we'll find out soon whether this ATS is actually an improvement or status quo. But I won't deny that they're capable of building a luxurious car. Even if they managed to be better than the Germans, they would only be available in the US and not in the entire world. That case, the German still wins I think.

The ATS will be sold in RHD and get a diesel... sometime.

From the live unveiling:

"Well under 3400lbs"
"V6 with over 320hp"
"60-0 in 109ft"

It'll be interesting to see the BS journalists find to say about the ATS, since usually they pick on the weight of GM car.

Good to hear that, and if I remember correctly the CTS were available in the UK but the selling was very, very bad... Well, from the live unveiling spec it sounds pretty good but I got to agree with Omnis that to me, it's ugly as hell! Just, just not my cup of tea really...

EDIT: But in anyway, it's still fairly interesting for the competition nonetheless...

I couldn't sleep so I got back on the net to check out the midnight unveiling of the new Fusion....and I love it.

To those saying "it looks like this, it looks like that, blah, blah", honestly there's not a whole lot of cars designed now days that don't look somewhat like something else. Actually getting a bit tiring reading it all the time. Kind of don't need to point it out anymore. :)

I heard that they're putting windows on it.

Thieves.

Press conferences just started so expect the info to come thick and fast. There's a new conference every 45 mins or so.

Funny thing is, the taillights are an evolution of the taillights of the 2007 Mondeo, which are even more similar to the GranTurismo taillights. If I recall correctly, both GranTurismo and Mondeo were unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2007, and Maserati was not very amused because people were making the exact same comparison.

If that's what GM is giving us I want my tax money back that was given to them. Seriously they need to get their bread and butter sorted out before dumping money into sporty concepts.
