Yeah i do, because what with that offer, and then Carrol gone thatd make 55 million. but if we price Suarez at 60 mil and no one wants to pay that, we keep him.

Cesc Fabregas was been linked heavily last week with a move to Man United...they are saying that he's not happy with the way he has been used in the Barca team and would welcome a move, its in his contract that he Arsenal have first refusal on him if he was put up for sale..Barca would want around £20 mill...

If someone offered 35-40 million for Suarez then Liverpool would sell him straight off.

Players are worth as much as other clubs are willing to offer. I dont get the need to bring some imaginary numbers like 50-60m. Basic concept of valuing a player.

Suarez will be worth £40-45 million max, I don't know where people are pulling numbers like £60 from.

I agree with this, although they would probably only accept over £40 million.

I should have left the 40 off of the max. And just to further clear things up, so I don't leave anyone else confused, I believe he's worth £40 million minimum, and £45 million maximum.

Real Madrid is rumored to be lining up an £85 million bid for Gareth Bale.

Based on all those meaningful goals he has scored in the last two seasons and his exploratory behaviour :P?

I don't know how prices are set, but some players seem to command a lot more then their historical performance suggests.

:scared::scared::scared:

My Porto team is getting completely dismantled right now.... Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez went to Monaco... This Jackson to Spurs story... potentially Mangala will be gone. Granted we have a lot of players to fill in most spots but this is the norm each and every year for me.... Portuguese league = best jumper league in EU, yet only the big 3-4 top clubs ever make any type of money on transfers.

Jackson btw is a great forward. He has that goal scoring instinct like Falcao, who also came from Porto!

If Porto would actually keep players, they could be a very strong Champions League team, throw in Benfica and maybe another team taken over by billionaires and Portugal becomes a country with seriously strong teams.

Also, that Jackson Martinez story is paper talk, so it could be complete BS. Spurs have made an offer for Villa I believe, and are also linked to Damiao(again...) and aubengyanganananang(St. Etienne striker, went a little overboard on the name :P)

Will never happen. Portuguese league doesn't have the money, neither do the clubs. Porto usually turns a profit at the end of the season, but even Benfica has had to dabble into their fan club account to recoup a season of losses. Sporting has been losing money on the norm year in and year out, and a small club like Braga might make a small profit but are always losing coaches and top players to other Portuguese or Spanish clubs. It's just the way it has always been, but under this Porto have won the CL twice. The money just isn't there.

Looks like Jesus Navas is heading to Manchester City for a rumored fee of £17m, Not sure how he will turn out, as he did kinda fall off the transfer radar for a little while. I would have thought that Pellegrini would have put in a offer for Isco.

The new fair play money rules come in this season don't they?

Does not really matter as there is bound to be ways around it, the big clubs are great at finding those. For example owning more than one club to use them as a feeder team.

I've been reading 25 million euros (21.3 million pounds). Pellegrini isn't officially appointed yet, he's just holding talks with MCFC staff, but I'm pretty confident he'll come out manager and will bring Isco along with him.

I thought they came in last season? I heard something about a club cannot make a £52 million loss over a rolling 12 months or something like that back in October.

Man City have agreed a fee of £34 mill Shaktar Donetsk for Fernandinho....according to Sky..

Madness. £34M for a 28 year old defensive mid...? Guess he's probably one better than Javi Garcia, but still. They have Rodwell, Barry, Toure, Garcia, and Milner (arguably) for that role already. Granted, of all those probably only Yaya or Milner deserve a starting spot right now, but... £34M?
Madness.

On one hand it's funny because that's a stupid amount to pay, on the other hand because the likes of City pay so much it's pushing the prices up for everyone.:ouch:

It's going to take a couple of major clubs going bust before this madness stops I feel.

Or getting docked points for not using the fair play rules.

£34 million? That is crazy! And he's 28! RvP was 28 when we signed him for about £24 million. Also:

BBC Sport
Total club appearances: 385
Total club goals: 68

That isn't a record that I would pay £30 million for for a midfielder.
