2013 release optimistic?

Most of us probably remember the numerous delays that GT5 had. Of course, they have to consider holiday sales and the expected PS4 launch.

Somehow I can easily see that we won't see the game before spring 2014. In fact, I expect a similar delay for the PS4. Unfortunately, my hype for this game is not very high but releasing the game on such short notice simply sounds too good to be true, especially when thinking back to the wait for GT5. Is it reasonable to expect that PD will keep their estimate of releasing GT6 within the next 6 months?

GT5 was only officially delayed once and it was the only GT game that took as long as it did. Mainly due to Polyphony working on other games and not knowing what they wanted to do on PS3. They first wanted to do GT HD but ditched that plan for GT5.

GT2 only came out two years after GT1. GT3 came out one year after GT2. GT4 came out only three years after GT3. So going by the whole data of GT releases, using one as a reference point is illogical.

Im sure PD learned alot from its GT5 experiences to not take release dates lightly. Which is why they have kept soo much under wraps and not drop any hints to avoid the uncontrolled hype machine that built up GT5.

OkeyD
Any later than 2013 won't do. They need to get it out while the PS3 still has some life in it.

That will be for several years yet. People act like a new system launches and a large chunk of gamers drop the older console in favor of the new one. The truth is that it will be several years after the release of PS4 that the majority of current PS3 owners have moved on to PS4. A couple years after the launch of PS4, there will still be far more people playing PS3 than those with a PS4.
