2014 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Rosberg's only chance, really, is to deliberately slow down, pinning Hamilton back and keeping him in dirty air, and hope that's enough to get one or two Williams cars between the Mercs when they finally pit.

Unfortunately, going slow enough for this to happen is an invitation to an overtaking attempt. Once Lewis realizes that Nico is sandbagging for a Williams leapfrog, he will try to overtake. And if they tangle, there's no guarantee Nico will score enough points to beat him, or that Nico will go on at all.

Nico needs to drive a clean race and a fast race to have a chance at winning the WDC. And he'll be hoping Hamilton messes up. Which is not impossible.

In the past, Lewis has messed up, under pressure, when having to drive to a target time or position. This season, he's had a few mistakes, but none big enough to lead me to think he'll mess up this race.

Nico looks good coming into this race. A commanding win in qualifying. He's got the hunger. He's got the pole position. Win or lose, winning this race will be a big boost to his confidence going into next season.

I was hoping that I would be able to hold out long enough for the race, but then I realised that it starts at midnight and I have class in the morning.

Probably for the best. I have no interest in watching a championship settled by who has the most Twitter followers. I'm still hoping Rosberg can win it, but I'm resigned to the fact that tomorrow morning Hamilton is likely to be champion.

So its already decided then. You sound like such a sour puss.

To your quote, yes Lewis can push and hand it to Nico. All depends if Lewis needs to win. It was more responding to Nico going all out strategy, that might split both of them from the rest of the field and Lewis could just wait and see and Nico has just made it worse.

I love how nobody has thought of the possibility of Hamilton 'accidentally' taking himself AND Rosberg out at the first corner! But of course, Lewis is such an angel...

Here's how I see the way the championship is going to be decided. Hamilton tries to take Rosberg out of the race in the first corner, but only takes himself out of the race while Rosberg gets a puncture and has to limb to the pits and chase the 5th position for the whole race.
