Up in the ass of DC!

Have just seen this picture of Vettel taking David Coulthard around the Sochi track. Something tells me that DC doesn't feel 100% comfortable with the German's driving...

I think David Coulthard is just realising that the man who replaced him at Red Bull has completely wiped his early RB achievements out of common memory and that his career absolutely pales in comparison.

"I got our first podium, y'know."
"Yes well, I won a race for Toro Rosso before Red Bull even had one, and that was while you were still around, old man."

I love Sniff Petrol!

(Just realised, the article itself is ok but the site itself has some choice language on it currently in the fake small ad. Discretion therefore advised!)

@TheBook, thanks, i have no idea how i could have missed this quoted post as i've checked back earlier posts a second time after reading the thread once and @prisonermonkeys post.
I suspect Marussia to not being really sure what they need to do in this situation, maybe they let all doors opened.

On that note, FP1 starts in sixteen and a half hours. When do Marussia have to let the higher-ups know how many cars they're running and who will be driving them (if they do run two cars)?

From the F1 sporting regs:
Teams may use up to four drivers during a season, all of whom may score points in the championship. A driver change may be made with the permission of the stewards any time before the start of qualifying. The new driver must use the engine and tyres allocated to the original driver.

On top of this, in each of Friday's two practice sessions teams may run up to two additional drivers, though each team is still limited to two cars. Any holder of a Super License may run as an additional driver, but stewards must be informed of a team's plans before the end of initial scrutineering on the Thursday prior to practice.

I'm currently watching the usual Wednesday F1 tv show from Canal+ (so from yesterday), channel who own TV rights in France, and they shown no doubt about the "fact" that Marussia will only have one driver at Sochi. But Rossi is on the list, finally...

Marussia have said they will decide whether to run the second car Friday morning, and that was said after the FIA's entry list was published. They can put Rossi on the list and not race him, but they couldn't leave the second car off the list and then choose later that they actually wanted Rossi to race after all.

Then how do they explain the second car?

All teams have a "third car", or at least the tub to build one from. Whether or not they can do that at a week's notice with everything in transit from Japan or seized as part of the investigation is harder to say.

All I've seen so far is that they've entered Rossi as the driver of the car for the weekend, in the event that they do run it he's in the seat.

There's a graver possibility too; the team may well be keeping an eye on whether or not news from the hospital has a say in the appropriateness of running the second car.

That picture certainly clears it up for us then. Looks like Marussia are running one car?

Quote from F1plus

"As an emotional day ended, Marussia named American Alexander Rossi as Max Chilton's probable team-mate this weekend, delaying a final decision until Friday."

FIA must have allowed them extra time, which does make sense given the extremely short turnaround and notice between Sunday and now.

@Liquid posted the entry form earlier (rather he posted it here, not posted it to the FIA :) ), it shows that Marussia named Rossi as the driver in that seat. That's the formality; it doesn't mean that he will drive, simply that he is able to do so.
