i vote we qualify by doing a few laps and having our times observed, i also vote to use practice mode instead of free run. in practice mode there are more options

Curious, in GT+ and GT classes are cars allowed to be stock under the required weight, but have ballast added to them to meet requirements? (For example a car is stock 1000kg and someone wants to run it as GT+, can they add the 50kg?) I ask because the "extreme track cars" is kind of vague.

Thanks,
i tried asking that yesterday and couldnt get a definitive answer...i added 10kg to my car to make it 1100kg

@Severn - I was really alluding to the FXX and Zonda R there. Which car do you have in mind?

@andp132 and I are weather testing atm if anyone wants to join us.

Nothing specifically, I was curious in general while digging through potential cars.

Let's say, the Autobacs Garaiya GT300 Base Model... it's 1175kg weight so technically falls outside of GT+, it can be tuned up to 650BHP (I believe), would added 25kg of ballast allow it to be in the GT class at a perfect power to weight of 650BHP/1200kg for the class?

(I just found that as an example, honestly I'm just hunting through cars and that's the first one I noticed that sort of fits my question.)

The SRT10 ACR Viper is also very capable.. got it to run about as fast as our SLS with the same specs. Pretty impressive from a production car. :)

If it runs similar pace to the other cars in the class it will probably be allowed to run right? Then a bit of balancing will be done when everyone have chosen their cars.

SRT10 ACR = GT
Autobacs Garaiya = GT+

But it depends upon peoples choices as to where where the final class cut will be.

i believe you have to be in an actual race for the penalty system to work. correct me if i am wrong. i just tried to cut the corners in practice mode and nothing happened. if there is no penalty system will we be using any mechanical damage?

Penalties are defaulted to "Off" in practice mode.

- The testing lobby has penalties off atm.

- Mechanical damage will be on heavy, which mean damage will only fix itself once you pit.

- We have got changeable weather working in practice lobby, we were having problems getting the track saturation to get past 0% even though it was raining.

- Most likely we will be moving to a Practice-Endurance setup.

- Oh and Dibs on changing my entry to a 2014 Le Mans prototype that may nor may not be added to the game before the start of the event. [/nudgenudgewinkwink]

i like heavy damage, but only if i know and trust the people im racing with...if someone causes me to have damage at no fault of my own, im gonna be pissed....so people better drive with some skill.

Stuff happens... ask Audi who lost 2 cars due to less experienced, lower class, cars in 2011... to me it wouldn't be a good 24 hour race without Heavy damage...

they are testing with weather on 60 changability...the track surface goes from completly dry to 100% wet in a matter of seconds...1) completly unrealistic, 2) you cant drive rs tires in 100% wet conditions, 3) by the time you actually pit to change tires, it will stop raining and you get stuck driving on the wrong tires.
you are supposed to have a gradual change in weather, with the road surface SLOWLY getting wetter, then you decide how far to push the tires before changing them...

The weather has been glitched like that in the game since a few updates ago.

I'm surprised that grip reduction will be on low... We won't need rain tires I guess.
MLB - I think BionicDerp is saying that even on 100% wet, if the setting is set to Low for grip, you can (and I have) run on Racing Softs @100%. The setting needs to be Real if the intent is to run on wet tires

We are just playing gods atm and have increased the passing of time tenfold.

Time change doesn't affect the weather at all. You can go to a track without the time change feature, and it will still go from 0-100% in a minute or 2.

i will test that theory right now, but if the rain is just cosmetic then why have it rain at all?

I've run the Megane Trophy with 60% surface water on racing hards. There's wheelspin, but most of the grip is kept in the corners if you stay on the "dry" line.

It's not cosmetic, just most of the effects of the rain are negated with the grip reduction on low.

either way, with this rediculous weather and heavy damage , this race is a crash fest waiting to happen

If this was a 1 or 2 our race, I could see heavy damage really messing things up however since this is 24 hour race, It should be ok. Im sure all of us will have an issue or two over the full 24 hour race.

i opened a room practice/race, penalty on strong, entered the track, drove terrible on purpose, nothing happened

I know this is going to be hard since we won't have much time racing together but since most of us are specifically invited to this event for our previous experience I think we should be able to trust our fellow racers not to cut intentionally and to do their best to avoid crashes? And if some team is seen cutting our causing mayhem we got 24 hours to report and kick them out. :P

Heavy damage is a must for 24 hour racing, that is what mixes things up a little and makes it fun.
