Why NASCAR refuses to give up on Indy is still a mystery. Clearly, attendance isn't good and lets be honest, no one cares about a NASCAR driver winning at indy in a NASCAR race even if it has two of their hometown drivers AND a Indy 500 winner.

Also, I love the reactions to the Cup drivers not winning. People act as if there's something sacred that needs to be protected when there isn't. Its a world full of sponsorship dollars and pasted smiles and interviews with crap loads of " I thank my thousands of sponsors", its hardly a big deal.

I was seriously expecting a phantom debris caution with a few laps to go which would've more than likely meant a Cup driver in victory lane. 👎 Kudos to NASCAR for not screwing a Nationwide driver out of the win and congratulations to Ty Dillon.

Roush-Fenway Racing announced 2015 driver lineup - Carl Edwards confirmed out.

It was to be expected but that's stupid. He's carrying the flag for your team, very talented and marketable, and you decide that he has to leave.
Much like Kenseth two years ago, the team is free to announce it, but Carl was contractually forbidden from talking about it until after a certain date (Sep. 1st, just like Matt).

Roush is going to be struggling in years to come. They NEED their "prospects" to at least be half as good as promised to have any hope of staying fully afloat.

Might've been Edwards' decision but regardless, it's better for him if he wants to win a championship. Roush hasn't show that they can put a run together in quite a long time. Two wins this year, yes, but how often is a Roush car at or near the front on most race weekends?

Could be mutual, could be forced by Roush, or Edwards could have clawed his way out. We won't know until much later. Does he have talent, yes. Is he carrying the flag or the team, not by himself now. Marketable? Subway is the only sponsor I've seen anything with him involved in, where as I've seen Biffle do a few things. Carl can win, but he can be just a streaky himself as RFR.

Question though, how long was his contract this time? Considering it was him or Kenseth three years ago, I thought NASCAR did 5+ year contracts with big teams.

Actually I said the same thing earlier this year in the thread but @MustangRyan and others are correct, Biffle really hasn't done anything in the past few years market wise other than the NASCAR green initiative. Carl Edwards did recent Ford Commercials (2013), Subway Commercials, Aflec commercials and then the NASCAR promo commercial with him doing various workouts.

So when I said it I was remembering very distant commercials from Biffle (and I apologize for that).

Also how is he not carrying the team?

Pretty sure Edwards made the choice to leave. There's no way Roush, in their current state, would just let a driver walk away with guaranteed sponsors. I did see that Fastenal is being moved over to Stenhouse. Guess that means Edwards is walking to whatever team with Kellogg's, Subway, and Scott's.

Edit:
>HEY GUYS LOOK WE'RE AT INDY.. WE CAN BE INTERNATIONAL WITH THE REST OF THEM
>This music.......

All I've seen from Biffle recently is the NASCAR green commercial :yuck:

I said that...read my post again. Key words to look for Green Initiative (ctrl+f and type that in)

@GTPorsche yeah I agree more likely Edwards giving them the boot. He is marketable and fast and teams seem to like that.

You probably aren't the only one. I THINK I remember the NASCAR one, the 'Which one is the machine' set, but other than that I can't recall new ones. Lack of TV doesn't help.

Carl has two wins this season, but when chaos doesn't find them, Biffle and Stenhouse have been up in the top 20 with him regularly. That said, he is the main force, but he isn't the only force. If what's said is true, then off track he may well be the only reason Jack can still run three teams, but I try to avoid off track stuff due to the constant pandering that everyone does. Am I wrong? Honestly, I haven't been right for at least three weeks, so why change that now.

Thing is as I've said to others and used in my argument consistently is that top 20s at the end of the day don't mean much considering it basically says more of the bad day Edwards had with the team then it does for the other two. Since for the other two that is pretty basic of their pace to finish in the top 20 at best most weekends especially Stenhouse. So when they finish on par with him it's because they're just ending up where they would no matter had Carl's day went, now if it's top ten or five then it's a good day all around.

Can I not quote and be in agreement and/or back up what you're saying?:bowdown:

I really didn't read like that if it did, I would have just simply liked your comment for understanding. And if you did agree why not quote the part where I talk about that specific commercial that you dislike instead of the other portion... that's why I said what I said. Anyways I've moved on.
