Watching it now but have to leave for work in an hour then when I get home there will be a little under 5 hours left. Too bad I can't stay up tilt 5am because I have work again at 11am.

Been watching since 12:00 earlier today (Missed the entire first half). Didn't realize this was taking place on a Friday-Saturday :odd:

Sunrise is about an hour away. 2am in the UK right now. I'm only still up because of a d&v bug keeping me awake, I'll probably see the sunrise there and here because of it

Least I've got this race to keep me company. Not sure I get why they've got to stick to being over a certain lap time for most of the race though, seems a bit strange.

They do it in the Am class so a pro-tier driver can't get in and run train on the competition, basically.

That AM class leading Ferrari is too fast for that group I think. P2 overall and only 4 laps off the overall lead...

My current viewing setup:

Tv on the left and Tablet on the right. BTW, the TV feed is coming from my HP Laptop :D

So the minimum lap time in the AM class I guess is 2:04.000 and Florian just cracked off a 2:04.05x and a 2:04.006 in the last few laps.

Edit: just broke out with a 2:03.950. Naughty Naughty.

Alright, 19 hours in and the GTA boys are 5th overall and a solid 2nd place in class.

And they're behind Rob Barff in a Ferrari, this is a good day for GT Academy. There was a nice interview with Rob Neville awhile back, he said some good things about the guys. This really is an impressive performance by the team, all the drivers are performing well. Go #23!

Not a lot of posts here like most 24 hour races, guess the interest isn't quite there as it is most of the year.

Anyhow, another Mercedes win is inevitable at this point, though I pretty much knew this was coming with 8 hours to go.

The Team RJN car is 5th overall, 2nd in A6-AM right now so its looking good for a amazing podium.

My first time watching a 24 hour race and I'm loving it! I thought this thread would have hundreds of posts.

The GT Academy team are doing a great job, they've been running strong and consistant. I cannot wait to see them on podium.

It used to be quite popular. Interest has fallen over the years. Plus I think they keep changing the race time and/or date because I surely remember watching this race from start to finish in previous years and this time around was not able to do that due to work.

Too bad my stream would never last longer than a minute before crashing. Made it impossible to follow the race. At least the live timing was able to provide me with some race feeling to kick the motorsports year off.

It's my traditional start to the season now so I still watch it. @Third Reign Did you watch the official site stream? That only went wrong for me once.

Well done to the #23. 2nd in class and 5th overall. They put their most experienced driver, Florian Strauss, in for the last stint because the rear brakes where a bit iffy. This race last your was his first international race ...

Just watched my first 24 Hours of Dubai. Congrats to the GT Academy drivers. I would really love to see the Dubai Autodrome added to GT at some point since it is such an important event to start the careers of all the GT Academy winners.

Saw the first few hours yesterdy and little snippets here and there since. Would also love to see the track in Gt6 along with a career mode that starts off as a mirror of GT Academy culminating in the Dubai 24hr, and a B spec so you can pace your drivers properly to a target time rather than another Gt5 Bob debacle.

Yes I tried viewing on the official stream, the You-Tube ones where all region locked in Germany. Got an "too many viewers" error once, all others where "The video has failed [Reload]" errors (it wouldn't reload thought). I was watching other YouTube vids and Twitch.tv no problem, I was kind of confused why it wouldn't run.

One thing I can't believe is that its actually been 10 years already for this race. Felt like it hasn't even been around that long.

How did Matt Griffin get into an Am category again? When he ran ELMS in 2013 as a (ringer of a) silver, he was as fast as the pros. At the end of the year, he was correctly upgraded to gold by the FIA, and he is still categorized as such.

I'm guessing that hometown driver in the car is why that team is in the AM category.
Also, I believe A6-AM is a Pro-Am category.
