So, why is this a Q and not a QX? Does anyone at Infiniti even understand this idiotic naming scheme?
It's the dumbest scheme I've ever seen. Simplistic to the point that there is no quantifiable difference between models via the name. I can't tell you what shape it is, how many doors it has, what engine it has. I can tell you if one is bigger than another based on the number but there is no baseline for that number so I can't tell you what size a particular model is.

It used to be a Q was a full size sedan and it had a 45 as an engine. Kinda like how a BMW 7 is its full size sedan and has a 50 or a 60 for an engine. Or Mercedes S. Or Jag XJ.

But now a is literally anything made by Infiniti. And the number is nothing more than some arbitrary placement in the lineup. So now when I hear "Q30" I think "I have no idea what that is anymore" and I immediately lose interest.

I'm sure the Q50 is a good car and I'd probably love to drive one, but not without calling it a G37.

I had thought that the Q50 was gonna be a sports sedan with a 5.0L V8 when it came out because of this. Even then, just naming the models "Q" and "QX" is still pretty confusing.

Then again, Cadillac will soon have models having the name "CT" on them.

I guess to me, at the very least, the CT series makes a little more sense ala the BMW number scheme. But, this assumes that Cadillac can get away with pretty much mirroring those numbers. I doubt BMW would be happy if the ATS and ATS Coupe became the CT3 and CT4 respectfully.

It looks... weird. I don't like the crossover/hatchback mish-mash they've tryed to do.

I don't mind the looks, better then what i thought it would be. You can tell it's a GLA in basically everything but name though.

So... This is a Lexus NX competitor?

Am I doing this right?

Infiniti, pls. Explain scheme.

Q30 is supposedly the competitor to the A class.

QX30 should be around GLA levels.

Did Mazda design that car as well?

Anyway, I think it looks brilliant. Both this and the Mazda 323 look far better than any of their german rivals in the segment.

Wonder how much more crossover-ish the actual crossover version will be, but considering that the GLA can be mistaken as a regular A-Class from a distance, probably not very much.

I hope the Q30 isn't that High, it looks like an SUV already, if the QX30 is just the same thing but higher it will look stupid.

As far as I can tell, I don't know how big the Q30 is.... As far as we know, it can be as big as a Mazda 3 Hatch, or it could be as big as a CX-3.
It already looks a tad bit lifted, and the wheels sure are much smaller than the concept versions, so, I dunno.

You know, I actually like this Q30. I'd prefer this be in silver or dark gray, but it looks sharp and handsome to me. Me gusta.
