Jordan Tresson got dropped by Nissan a few years ago but is now Testing for Lexus.

Not sure why he was pretty good, must of been other reasons.

Marco entered another Gran Turismo competition the following year and won SLS AMG. Not bad.

Luca went on to race Maserati's and Ginetta's in Italy and did quite well. Last year he was brought back as a mentor for the Italian team in GT Academy.

In 2010 Marco Calvo won the final race, however Jordan Treason and Luca Lorenzini were selected as the winners.

I remember the judges had pretty much made up there mind well before the final day, Jordan also crashed a 370z into a wall on the day before the final I think and that didn't seem to make a difference.

Anyone want to update the title?

Nissan has confirmed it will once again host its GT Academy initiative in Australia this year.

This will be the third occasion the gamer to racing driver program will take place in the country following on from the success of Queenslander Matt Simmons, who was triumphant last year.

The former postal worker won a lucrative factory Nissan GT3 drive in Europe’s Blancpain Endurance Series after seeing off a host of the world’s best gamers.

Australia will be among six territories to host GT Academy competitions as Nissan goes in search of its next wave of gamers to transform into professional racing drivers.

The manufacturer will offer the winner an intense driver development program resulting in an international licence and a chance to race for Nissan in an endurance event.

Launched globally eight years ago, the program has launched the careers of Lucas Ordonez, Jann Mardenborough and Wolfgang Reip.

“I entered the GT Academy competition to achieve my dream of becoming a professional racing driver”, said Simmons, winner of the 2015 International GT Academy.

“GT Academy is an opportunity to make your racing dream come true. To make the most of it, you have to believe in yourself and your abilities but most of all, enjoy the experience.

Anyone know dates or platform this will be kicking off on?

Will likely be on GT6. Live events to be held in July from what I've heard. Nothing regarding dates is concrete however, just speculation so far.

There was a note on the Nismo Facebook page saying that a version of gt sport with only Nissan cars would be used. Without the mention of a date

Best of luck gents. GTSport levels out the playing field a bit so better start working on your fitness and driving if you think you have a chance.

You can register for it now http://www.nissan.com.au/Discover/GT-Academy/Overview

It starts in August, it will be on Gran Turismo Sport however at this point it only mentions live events and I don't know if this means we can't download it to our own PS4's.
Most of that is about last year dude...

I hope it's early August if so, because I'm heading to the USA for 3 weeks at the end of that month. If not, hopefully I can find a live qualifier somewhere near where I'll be heading so I can hopefully enter over there still!

Nope as per the the gt academy thread. The guys in the phillipines (which will be us in august) get to download a special Nissan only version of gt sport with 5 tracks.

It seems its coming to us soon! Anyone know any details about how sign up, download gt sport academy edition?
Details are still sketchy, but here's the best I know so far.

Live events around Aus. in August, so no PS4 download.
(the photo and descriptions you've seen I believe are from a live event, not a personal PS4 download)
Venues and dates for Aus. not released yet.

20 fastest go to National final in September.
Top 6 go to Silverstone Race Camp in October.

That's assuming the below text is updated and accurate.

"The 2016 Nissan GT Academy launches during August and begins with live events across the six participating territories. Live events will be hosted at shopping malls, universities, Nissan dealerships and theme parks with permanent residents of participating territories able to turn up to a scheduled live event to set their best time. The 20 fastest drivers will then go on to qualify for a territory final, to take place between August and September, where their real world skills will be tested in fitness, communication and driving challenges.

Each territory will then send its six best drivers to Race Camp at Silverstone Circuit, the home of British Motorsport. Held in October, competitors will have their skills pushed even further to see who has the attributes required to race at International level and become the 2016 Nissan GT Academy winner."

Register for competition updates here.

But I believe actual registration is done on the day at the event when you attend in person with appropriate Id. etc.

Yeah they normally register you after you set a time. Well for the last couple years thats how its been done.

Good luck to everyone who'll be giving it a shot this year. I'll see ya there :)

Thanks for providing said info, but that info is already incorrect as, gt academy has already kicked off in one of the territories (Philippines) and they were able to download a Nissan only copy of gt sport as @te? post in the main gt academy thread. Cant wait for more info to be released.

Yes, that info. was for Australia only.

Here is the relevant info. for Philipines.

And it only talks about live events.

I may be proven wrong in the future, but at this stage to me it seems unlikely.

It's been almost a week now, and if people were able to download GT Sport onto their console we would have seen endless posts about it here on GTPlanet, endless videos popping up on the internet, and I'm sure something would have been said on GT Academy Facebook, none of which has happened so far.

I have to agree with this. If people could download the game why haven't we seen youtube videos and posts about it.

Clearly by liking @e30318is post @te? would appear to be confirming it but what I have seen so far is a photo of the main screen at the live even so if te really has been able to download it I'm requesting proof.

I want to be able to download an play this as much as the next guy and I actually got my hopes up momentarily when I thought that people in the Philipines were able to download it but now I don't believe it.

Yeh, it doesn't look good.

I would image to keep things fair, all territories will hold events in the same manner, all the way to Race Camp.
I've gone through every aspect of the Philipine's T&C's including conditions of entry, and even prizes, and there is zero mention of anything other than live events.

So it does seem unlikely.

I just hope the live event in QLD is before Aug 21 and the finals are after Sep 13 as I'm going to the USA in that time lol.
With no North American GT Academy announced yet I hope if the dates here don't clash with my travel, I hope that USA does do it and there'll happen to be a live event somewhere on the west coast while I'm over there, if so lol.

Hi guys seems like alot of you are very interested to get details. As much as i would love to post and post details i can only provide limited information through here.
