Ford guys looked majorly hacked off during the drivers parade where I was they didn't even get out of the cars to sign autographs.

VW also had their new beetle on display too

Morning all! Camped up in Maison Blanche, rain was mental last night but the tent is at least 80% dry so I'd call that a success! Hope you all enjoyed the coverage from the safety of your lovely dry homes ;)
It's nice in my dry home, but I'm still envious of you and can't help but think warm up would serve as one hell of a cool-sounding wake up call.

Another (probably) stupid question: does the left and rightmost lanes down the Mulsanne straight count as track in real life? I'm asking because the latest GT6 seasonal DQed your time if you put 2 wheels there. I always thought they are legal. Or is this one of those grey area places like the exit of Ascari at Monza?

I'd imagine legal but dangerous (marbles, debris etc.). I don't believe there are track limits there. At the speed, likely going closer to the wall is a dangerous prospect.

Bo
When did they go overboard in quali? They took far, far too long to throw the reds yesterday - the minute drivers can't control their cars at all, it's time to call it a day.

I get that people have been frustrated recently by the lack of racing action in various series, but so far lots of weekends have been hit with horrendous weather. It's very unfortunate but that's just how things go sometimes.

@Furinkazen's drinking game becomes the official GTP LM24 drinking game. The rules are clarified at the bottom. Good luck folks.

I'll have alcohol poisoning due to the amount of Fox ads.

Those "lanes" are sometimes used for overtaking when the track is crowded by slower traffic. Totally legal but somewhat reckless.

I see. I've thought of marbles as well, but I think it would still give an advantage coming out of the chicanes to "widen" the track as much as possible. If everyone uses that lane, then the marbles wouldn't be an issue. Still weird that GT decides it's off limits though.

The thing is that part of the track is very dirt (it's that bit of the road that it's there for you to park your car in emergencies , like when you got a flat tyre = yeah, I don't know how it's called in English), so people avoid it naturally. But I've been following and watching Le Mans for years and never saw anyone getting penalized for going there.

I believe the term you're looking for is road shoulder :D But yeah, I can sort of understand now. It's not a strict no-fly-zone, but people just avoid it because the surface is not conducive for grip. I just always thought racing drivers are meant to push track boundaries ;)

EDIT: I just watched footage from last years race. The road shoulders looked a lot bumpier and slippery in real life than in GT. Also noticed there's grass jutting out near the edges. In GT it's only as bumpy as the main road, with similar grip, and no grass in sight. Makes sense that they would avoid it IRL. It's just poor track modelling in GT. I still think it's not worth making it a penalty zone though.

4 pack of Redbull and snacks purchased. No alcohol, it would put me to sleep. Now I have to decide if I want to get up early to watch the start.

Last year was a heap of fun watching the race with you lot, so I'm pumped for the race now. Hopefully the weather plays a part, and Audi can reclaim the top spot back from Porsche. I wouldn't rule out Toyota too, they could just cause an upset here if they play their cards right.

No those are outside track limits the track is within broken lines at each side.

The lines the bikes are in would be outside track limits.

did take a bus trip round the track earlier :D

I've been having 🤬 sleep patterns as of lately but I already got the snacks and some beer for tomorrow. I always drink one at the start and one at the end , plus...some cheapo off-brand energy drinks to stay awake, like 4 or 5.

I should really go to sleep soon though. It's finally happening!!! :D

I'll get to catch the first 15 minutes than I'll have to leave. Hopefully this camera thing doesn't take too long. I have to work during the night as well but it's only 4 hours.

I'll be getting up at 6 (ugh) to watch the start, then go autocross, then watch to the end, and then go autocross again! (Unless I fall asleep) It's going to be a busy weekend.

An 11pm start for me, gonna try and watch till 1 or 2am, sleep till about 5 or 6am then watch the race through to it's finish. Got plenty of soft drinks, and one Red Bull (not big on energy drinks), had a good 12hr sleep overnight so I'm ready as I'll ever be.

I'll be having my grad party tomorrow, so I'll get to watch the start. Stuck with the FS1/FSGo coverage, so hopefully I can watch it in the afternoon and evening hours. Glad I subscriped to the 24 Hours of Le Mans Youtube channel last year, so I can get a video update every few hours. Sounds like it'll be a great race this year, now that the BoP is in order. Not that fun watching a car pull away four seconds per lap, but enough of that, we're all here to enjoy the race!

Have fun, folks! Those of you old enough to partake in the drinking game, may your livers and bladders hold fast for the next 24 hours! (Can't believe I just said that, haha!)

The Michelin Cup race for LMP3 and GT3 starts in 5hr from now.

I'm looking forward to this, I watched round 1 earlier today, going to be good to be able to compare the speed difference between a GT3 and GTE Am car,
