Great night for the English teams once again headlined by Tottenham's stunning 3-1 win over Real Madrid, two from Alli and the other from Erikson, Real were pretty poor.

Man City beat Napoli 2-4 and are through and Liverpool beat Maribor 3-0.

Chelsea's loss last night is the only defeat by an English team in the CL so far this season.

Liverpool 1-0 up away to Sevilla after 88 seconds.
Liverpool with another crash, this time from 3-0 lead at half time to 3-3.

Real win 6-0 away at APOEL, and Spurs beat Dortmund 2-1 in Germany. Still a fight for group win. Though Spurs would need a total collapse against APOEL.

City ruined my bets by scoring only 1 goal. 👎

It goes on head to head first and since Spurs picked up 4 points against Real they're guaranteed to be top. A collapse against APOEL however could put them into the Europa over Dortmund.

Oh right, forgot that. :P

Oh well, Real is picking up the pace now, hopefully, so even a 2nd place in the group shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah all Celtic did was wake up a big angry bear with a big pointy stick.

Disappointing night in Basel, match was there for the taking after we hit the bar three times in the first half but then we let them in in the second half and lost to a 90th minute winner, goes to the last group game now. :indiff:

So this is that last time I'm going to say this for a while until it resumes in February but the last group games are this week so.....

Champions League is back this week!!

Looking forward to our final game tomorrow, chance to clinch demotion into the Europa League.

If Celtic win, I'd be very happy with 6 points from this group.

Luke Shaw starting for United at home to CSKA Moscow, I hope for his sake that he has a good game, looks like Blind is playing in centre mid with Pogba further forward, Chelsea and Celtic the other Brits playing tonight.

Yeah about that, you might think that finishing top of your CL group means you would get an easier time of it in the last 16, however on this occasion you could get Bayern or Real Madrid!

We won 2-1, forget CSKA's going 0-1 up...

We top the group.
Lukaku and Rashford scored.
Rested players for Sunday.
Luke Shaw did well.

Job done. 👍

After finishing 2nd Chelsea can only draw Barcelona, PSG or Besiktas. Potentially Sevilla as well depending on the results tomorrow.

Liverpool still have work to do to finish top, a lot of permutations in their group, its quite close.

So Liverpool did their work with a 7-0 demolition of Spartak! They top their group, Spurs also had a comfortable night beating APOEL 3-0 at Wembley whilst Man City lost 2-1 away to Shakhtar. Cristiano Ronaldo broke a record tonight by becoming the first player to score in all six group games.

All five English teams are through to the last 16. 👍

Last 16 draw

Juventus v Tottenham
Basel v Man City
Porto v Liverpool
Sevilla v Man United
Real Madrid v PSG
Shakthar v Roma
Chelsea v Barcelona
Bayern v Besiktas

Three out of the five English teams have got to be happy with that draw, ill leave you to guess which ones.

Real vs PSG? Wow, that's a big name out already! Same with Chelsea Barcelona.

Liverpool vs Porto should be entertaining. Either Liverpool cream their opponents, or Porto manage to easy crawl through the poxy defense.

I think Tottenham might actually be happy with that. They've beat Real Madrid, they've beat Dortmund. I'd not be surprised if they got Basel didn't come out like they had to smash it from the whistle and got caught out. At least they know they have to play and could upset Juventus.
