Steel suppliers haven't been left out of the mix, of course -- the 2017 Super Duty's frame will consist of 95 percent high-strength steel, about six times as much as before. Ford says that the beefed-up structure, which is available in five lengths and three cab configurations, is 24 times stiffer than the outgoing generation.

The new heavy-duty truck series will be available with one of three engines - a 6.2-liter gasoline V-8, a 6.8-liter gasoline V-10 and a second-generation version of its Power Stroke 6.7-liter turbo diesel V-8. The 6.2-liter will receive a next-generation six-speed TorqShift-G automatic.

So we go from roundish to squarish to a more tapered polyhedron...look at those rear fenders on the Dually. It's almost like they've done these new things and for the most part kept the same truck they've had since 2000 body wise and then put an entirely giant wide nose on the front.

And it's not just American makes...the Japanese follow as well.

This.

All of the powertrains carry over from the current truck. So if you want specs, just look at the 2016 models on Ford.com.

Well, at least it's a 3V now. Oh, and it actually considerably out-twists the 6.2, so there's that too. Fairly sure that makes it the last of the living first-gen Modulars though, 99.9% sure the 5.4 is dead in everything it was in, as is the 4.6.

Jesus, that front end is huge. If I was in the market for a heavy duty pickup for whatever reason, I'd still probably go with the Ford.

TRUCKS

I've said this before but it's kinda hilarious that Ford and GM keep one-upping each other with more and more aggressive trucks, while the Ram is now the most understated and tastefully styled truck from the big 3.

I wish they would bring back the 7.3 V8 :(
Have one, well abused but runs like a champ, and I'd love to see a new one but it will never happen. Partly because Ford makes the powerstroke alone now, the 7.3 was one of, if not the last, where Navistar (International) had a hand in the design.

As for this...well, it's better than that Chevy Reaper thing. What ever happened to simple?

International designed the 6.0 and 6.4 PowerStroke as well. The 6.7 is the first engine that International didn't have a hand in designing for Ford.

I think I'd actually like that superduty.. Any info if there's a camper shell available for it?

So much better

See, I normally never like any Ford F-250 and up in white, but I've always liked the 150 in white. Could never quiet place my finger on it, but I guess it does come down the the front end.

I feel like the new HD in white with a black grill would look much better, though.
