I don't understand how Tander gets made fun of but no SVG for the same actions basically.
I think it's because, sporadic success aside, Tander hasn't been relevant for years. SVG is running around at the front, while Tander is squabbling over fifteenth. It's a double standard, but one that's fairly common in motorsport. Tander and Rick Kelly were both "drivers on the limit" and able to get away with blue murder a decade ago, and no doubt SVG will be similarly washed up on the shore of a career that overstayed its welcome in ten years' time.

The Ferrari is my favorite and i will be watching for it to win .
I also love the Mercedes and Nissan GTR.

Does any bady know if they show this race on tv in the U.S .

So much for this being the best(not even one of the best) race of the year. Maybe the Bathurst 6H Production Cars will show them how it's done.

After such a great, action packed race at one of the world's best circuits perhaps the guys at Kunos will include this track. If only to keep up with SMS and PD ;-)

It could be a dream made in heaven, AC, private lobbies on PS4 and Bathurst :-)

It was fine. If the organisers can keep it as GT3/GT4/GTC that'd be fine. Class I is a bit iffy with anything other than a TC.
I think Carrera Cup should be dropped. Would open slots for more of the main class cars.

Wow, the hate is strong with you guys  That would have been a much more exciting finish if Engle had been in the car and just held station for a glorious 2nd place. Who would have forgot the marvulous 2nd place for Merc at the 2017 Bathurst 12hr!!

Who's on the short list to be Engle's teamate next year?

Edit: anyone think Engle has the balls and courage to stand up in a team meeting and say, "I think I'm the best, I should qualify the car and I should do the final stint." I'm going to take a wild guess and say "no..." But he has no problem discrediting the guy who gets assigned with qualifying and finishing a car with terrible straight line speed.

After finally catching-up myself, I must say I'm glad the Ferrari won it, mostly because of the overly-aggressive behavior of the Merc throughout the race.

Who's to say he didn't do that and the team overruled him?

Eh, it still had it's memorable moments though. You can't expect a race to always be the best thing going every single time. Still a decent race in my books. :)👍

This. Safety cars are never fun and the drama at the end was disappointing but I'll take that over controversy or questionable occurrences any day of the week. Race was good IMO, did enjoy, looking forward to next year.

Great point. AMG much prefer their drivers to punt off privateer teams and then stuff a car worth a few hundred grand into the wall, then place 2nd in one of the year's blue riband events

I think since Engel was outed from V8SC he's become egotistical, he's had a few wins like Macau and an absolute dream 2016 season, but he seems to forget that in recent times the 12h has been SVG's stomping ground and along with the V8 championship plus back to back Blancpain Endurance titles, I guess its hard for Engel to see the talent of SVG when SVG is usually 40 odd seconds up the road,

Every driver has an ego, they all want to be the guy in the car for the last stint. And Maro made a good point, Shane stuffed up qualifying and made plenty of mistakes in the race as well. He'd had a very poor weekend to that point, so it could be argued Maro should have been the closer.

Mistakes made by pushing as hard as possible, regardless, it was obvious by the body language of SVG when he parked the car on track he was feeling remorseful, Maro's behaviour was expected, it shows the passion he has for the event, but the comments were really appalling, motor racing you win and lose as a team,

Really man .
To me and most people this is difficulty one of the best race next to the green hell and 2 or 3 more special race tracks .
What's so great bathurst 6hr production cars race ,just asking .

I'm speaking on this years race. The past 5 years jave been good. I was feeling this race with more Pro drivers would be even more so. The racing overall wasn't that great.

The 6hr are straight up production cars. It's growing. The field looks good this year. There are new cars(AMG A45, Focus RS, TT, Subaru) to challenge the Evos(even though an 8yo BMW 335i won).
I'm not raising the bar saying the either Bathurst is better than the othee. I'm hyped for this one as well.

I'll throw it out there, but I think IMSA's way of handling Safety Cars and the wave-around would have made for much much more exciting racing. After 12 hours, there was what, 2 cars on the lead lap? That's quite garbage in my opinion. I get that historically, that is where endurance racing comes from, but to me, it drastically takes away from the racing. Yes, we may have had fewer laps under yellow, but what were those green flag laps? Not much racing happened on them.

Agreed, but IMSA's way is stupid, 40 odd minutes of safety car because classes pit separately, most incidents at Daytona were cleared up within 2 laps, I get that IMSA's safety car is designed to limit traffic in pit lane and cleanse the field so that all the classes restart somewhat together, but after the third safety car there was always a GT car trying to get laps back and tangled within the prototypes,

This.

Twitcher, are you talking about how difficult it is to get back on the lead lap in the 12 hour? I prefer that method to the getting a lap back for no reason IMSA method, but things could definitely be done better.

This is exactly where I think slow zones / code 60's should be looked into. No unfair advantages / disadvantages to anyone and a race that is considerably more natural.
