If they got 4th or better it didn't matter what anyone else did. They might still be able to win but the 67 probably has to be 3rd or worse or something.. Haven't worked out the numbers.

67 has to win and have the 3 finish 4th or worst (at least I think that's what the graphic said earlier).

That was a quick repair. Pratt and Miller just clutched that.

7 just got a drive through for passing under yellow.

33 stop and 2:46 for improper wave by.

3 went to the garage, fixed the damage, and returned to the track within 3 minutes.
Now 3 laps down!

Amazingly, they still have a chance to win the championship!

At this point, the 67 needs to win or take 2nd and the 3 needs to be last. if the 67 takes 3rd, its a tie and not sure who gets tiebreaker.

EDIT:

Screwed up corrected the info

#67 Ford wins the tiebreaker because they've won a race and surprisingly the #3 hasn't. So the Ford can win by placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd if the #3 is last.
I still cant believe that happend. :banghead:

Edit - it just showed in the current running order the #3 is 1 point ahead of the #67

Oh it's gonna be a nailbiter. 912 getting a drive thru, 67 up to 2nd...

Legge going backwards in GTD, looking more and more like the 48 will take that. Of course there's 2hours left, things can still change.

So if the #4 let's the #3 overtake for position and the #67 finishes 2nd does the Ford still win? I'm trying to figure out if they still have a chance.

Yes, Ford would still win in that scenario. Pretty much their best hope is for the 67 to finish 3rd or worse.

Ford still wins. If the Ford drops one position they'd have the same points.

4 parks right in front of the 86 and makes the 86 stall trying to get out of it's stall. Lot of time lost!

Please let's have another GTLM champion, goodness please, come on Ford...

Prototype is basically long gone now :ouch:

52 stopped on one of the alternate paths in the esses with left rear damage. Caution is probably gonna come out.
Edit: Caution is out.

Cant believe between the spin and the Porsche drive through pentalty giving up position, perfect scenario for the #67

Going to refer back to a few hours ago but during the broadcast, the IMSA Radio crew asked Chris Reinke what he thought Audi would do for future sports car efforts. Interestingly, he said two things: Audi isn't looking at DPi at the moment, and even more crucially, currently are not looking at the WEC Hypercar class either.

While I have limited information on the subject, it makes sense for Audi to not pursue anything other than customer GT programs after dieselgate. Their Formula E efforts not withstanding, they will probably play it safe for a bit. I wouldn't be surprised to see them enter a manufacturer focused top-class in a few years when costs come down and hybrid-tech is more standardized.

That's not too surprising considering the rumors the R8 won't be getting another generation. If I had to guess Audi's racing program will shrink to just touring car stuff (DTM & TCR) and Formula E while Bentley, Lamborghini and Porsche represent VAG in the sports car ranks.
