2020 Le Mans 24 Hours: Preview, Live Streams, Schedules and Discussion

Back after a few hours kip, and all looks well so far. Though;

98 had some sort of suspension failure.

Ah, thats a bummer, at least #90 TF Sport crew are still heading AM (hopefully not jinxed!), and the #51 Vs. #97 battle looks like it's still ebbing and flowing.

#8 running like a metronome up front, #1 Rebellion running into issues they could do without to keep Toyota at arms length, that they'd mananged very well to be fair. Whilst it's closed on the #3, It looks doubtful that the #7 Toyota will catch 3rd on pace :indiff:. Fair play to Rebellion though.

Gotta wonder if that smoke that randomly emanates from that #8 Toyota will cause them any issues before the race is over?

It would be so sweet to see Rebellion take the overall win at the last Le Mans before the hypercars take over.

It's something the Toyota's have done from time to time, Toyota weren't concerned that it was an issue when it popped up. Not sure what causes it exactly, whether it's an excess oil burn type thing, but it doesn't seem to affect performance thankfully.

A double Rebellion podium would be no mean feat for them. They've done very well to keep the Toyota's at arms length on pace, before the #1 hit problems (did they say what issues they were?).

So impressed with the Rebellions this year. Still in position to take advantage of any issues with the #8 and going at a pace that'll stop the #7 from catching them.

Best privateer performance for overall win since Pescarolo in 2005?

With that pace yes! This is not just about luck.

The two Rébellion under investigations for the last pit stop

It is quite exciting knowing that Alpine Signatech will get one of these specific LMP¹ for next season until they get an Hypercar (... still studying the regulations)

Both Rebellions under investigation for pit infrigements, potentially for more people working on the car(s) than allowed, or similar not too sure. Also, if I heard that correctly on RLM, the #1 was delayed partly because of an issue/collision involving a rabbit .

I wouldn't hold your breath, Alpine next year will using a grandfathered Rebellion R13 chassis, so not sure how that will work out with the newer LMH cars. In theory faster, given the target times for LMH, but BoP will be interesting. Still, great to have the Alpine in the top class again, will be interesting to see what they do going forward.

You're right ;)

I hope BOP will work better for the Alpine LMP¹ Next year than for the Porsche Team this year :banghead:

Cant wait until the bee rules come in and more manufacturers join the top class.

The race just hasnt been the same since only Toyota was left in the top class.

Lmp2 has had quite an interesting race however. To have a race at all this year is good considering the world basically stopped a few months ago.

Yellow flags at Dunlop chicane. #89 Porsche spun with puncture. Lets see if he can make it back to the pits.

Rebellion #3 having issues at Indianapolis. Comes in for front clip swap. Rear clip is changed aswell.

#3 Rebellion just went way too deep into Indianapolis, small trip through the gravel and a minor clip of the barrier, doesn't seem to have done much harm.

Edit: Well it was enough to warrant a front and rear tail section replacement, and now it's is hesitant to get away from it's pit-box.

Edit 2: #3 now being wheeled into the garage.

Edit 3: With that unfortunate 5min stop for the #3, it means the #7 Toyota is now up to 3rd :mischievous:. Commiserations for Rebellion late on though.

Looks like it could be real close between the #3 Rebellion and the #7 Toyota for that 3rd place, will be interesting. No disdain to Rebellion, but as a Toyota fan I'd like to see the #7 make that 3rd place, some crumb of comfort for their bad luck.

It seems the end of the race shenanigans are in full swing: yellow flags here and slow zones there, safety cars everywhere.

We might see the checkered flag under yellow flags and behind the safety car. What an end for an era.
