I'd like to ask for some advice, perhaps from others in the same situation as me.

I'd been doing FIA Manu races for the last half of last season, and was quite eager to do a full season. I can't race on Saturday nights, so Nations had previously been out of the question.

Polyphony have ruined BOTH Nations and Manu for me by switching the days of the week that races are being held, halfway through the season.

What to do, other than sit in a corner and cry like a baby?

Do half the Manufacturers season and half the Nations season. That what I'm doing. Its not ideal but you'll get as many points scoring races (being 2 races) as everyone else.
I'm sorry, I don't follow. I understand that you can discard one or two races, but as their are six (?), that means I am at a deficit of at least one race. Am I wrong there?

I find it quite tricky to modulate brake pressure properly with the G29 pedals, the difference between full brakes (and ABS kicking in) and the optimum pressure seems like a really fine line.

For example, race B dailies this week I'm struggling to find that balance at turn 1, seaside hairpin and Larini (it's DTS reverse of course)

I am quite new to all this, but saw a post about adjusting your wheel settings. After some experimenting you can feel when the the wheels are locking up and ease back on the brakes.

Cheers. I might have a play about with that later. All the braking seems to happen late in the pedal travel at the moment, if that makes sense. Would be good to have it more progressive.

There are half a dozen or so good mods for the G29’s brake.
I’d look into one as they seem to help with braking consistency.
Had the same problem you’re having with figuring out that fine line and it helped alot.

Did a lot of practice and finally able to do Sardegna C with the Peugeot without ruining the tyres. My method was turning TCC on after lap 1 and then waiting a bit with accelerating out of the corners. Managed to go about a second per lap faster then in my previous attempts and thought I would be able to be competitive now.

But just arrived at work and been informed that there will be road construction works and tunnel maintenaince the coming days which means the highway is closed and have to do a detour. I will not be home in time to make the final slot. Really hate that PD has limited the slot times so much!!!:irked:

Normally I have been able to make the 17:20 slot after my work. But there is roadworks between work and home now meaning I would miss out or be too tight to make it. These are completelty unnecessary too, labelled as 'Road Improvements'. In the UK that means: The improvements will make the road/ junction worse than what it was like before.
If that was me I'd say try flexi and maybe request to come in 30 mins before in so you could leave 30 mins early.
Whatever happens the situation sucks. Sorry to hear.

Wish i could be flexi but I am working shifts. Mine is 14.00 till 22.00 hrs and I am the one closing the terminal. I can "smuggle" a few minutes but not half an hour, the control room would notice, I think....
Without the roadworks and a bit of luck I could just make the final slot. My wife would start the PS4 for me and enter the venue. I would be home around 22.20 hrs and just in time for qualifying, Now not home before around 22.30 hrs so no use to even try.
oh well, it is what it is. Can also not do Spa and Mount Panorama because of the current slot times, so this exhibition series is a lost cause for me...

I mean it's been the same for the last three seasons..

Try the TrueBrake mod, made in the UK for the G29 and related wheels... it's a lower cost upgrade with some improved modulation potential... not perfect but better than the stock potentiometer.

Mu own designs are in my gallery. When I have some time I will upload the actual liveries for use, friends only. Now at work till 06.00 but will try tomorrow afternoon or monday morning. You might like the Keukensale.com Porsche I made recently?

What an awesome livery! Thanks for sharing. I love how it looks on the RSR...
I broke my self imposed rule and ran a second slot.

But why? Because I knew sweet victory was within reach.

So while qualifying wasn’t much to write about in either race, a victory royal in race 2 was. Started P5ish and moved to the front pretty quickly. Had some issues and got shuffled back to like 4th-5th. But able to crawl my way back fairly quickly, with some assistance by @Jwptexas and another fellow American who knew the fine arts of bump drafting. But the win wasn’t a gimme. Okay, not to brag, it should’ve been, but really made it my mission every other corner to stick it in the gravel. Luckily, I only did it once (on the final corner of the lap) so the half a second penalty wasn’t too bad. Didn’t cost me the lead. And eventually P2 and P3 got to racing, allowing me to extend my gap until the sweet, sweet taste of virtual champagne got sprayed.

And very glad to see some GTP boys out there. @afc5150, @Jwptexas, and @Rods.

That's awesome! Love it when you take the risk and it pays off with a re-run like that. It's rare, though! Usually seems to be the opposite, downward spiral for most of us when we talk ourselves into re-running one. I really wanted to run this race but was out of town. Kudos to a GTP'er and TPC teammate for grabbing the flag. Wish I'd have been out there with you!

Ah I did not know what you did for a living. Sorry to hear you can't make them for the foreseeable. I'm sure a few on here would be happy to give you a replica race, shame any points wouldn't count.

I am hoping that the colleague who informed me has mistaken the date that the roadworks start. He said it would start this evening but can not find any info about it on the relevant websites. Hope that the roadworks will in fact start Friday evening, which actually makes more sence. I will see when going home this evening/tomorrow evening... fingers crossed.

Cheers. 70 notes on ebay and back in stock 5 April so I'll mess with the settings a bit while I decide whether to take the plunge.

Had a practice race in the lobby for the first time ever. Looks like it'll be a good race. Definitely confirmed the meds will go the distance easily with only a hint of wear in turn 4 and the hairpin. Feel ready for tomorrow now.

Will every car manage not to stop though?
Well we'll find out what happens shortly as I'm D13 and changing to soft with every intention of remembering to change back before I start. 2 total numpties helped ruin my quali and because I was annoyed I forgot to change tyres so let's just see how badly I do. Well I quit, another waste of time. Oh look there's a car to use as a turning aid. Been playing GTA SA recently and the driving is so much cleaner in that game. I might go again or I might wait for Europe or I might just not bother till they do something about this penalty system. I do actually realise that I might be making more out of this than it really is, but at the end of the day I play games for fun and I'm really not having much fun having to think about how dirty the guy behind me is going to be.

This the crap I loathe.

P11 apologises. Yo... I was able to move up by cars going off. Followed an Atenza and the LAncer just behind it. The Lancer did a couple peeks on the Atenza, but the Atenza was losing pace. We both got around it on the straights. Now, I followed the Lancer for about 5 laps. Twice I was able to get alonside it and I think pass it. it repassed me. The time I make my move and make it stick, was a clean pass. For about 5-7 laps, dude keeps going up the inside and making contact. Like STOP!
This is nearly slowing us down. The NSX and some other car went off. A couple cars up front pit. They're coming up semi-fast. About 5 laps to go, I'm runing 10th. The freakin' 458 unghosts in the downhill esses. The Lancer, don't know what it was doing. Is somehow on my right side. I bump the unghosted 458 and nearly swerve off and I get 3 seconds!

Kept it together by a kind GT-R behind me after I served my penalty. Then, the Lancer posts the apology. It's like, just stop doing the dive thing. I wasn't pressing it early and mid-race so we could stay in touch with the cars ahead. Jeez.

Every car should. The red was around 1/4 by the end. You may have to adjust your entries into turn 4 and the hairpin, but other than that no issues.
See my Aston is closer to half maybe a little better on the left. Anyhoo went again and got a massive 16 points, that was for the win!!! 1 B, 3 Es and the rest Cs and Ds. Decent race Q3 and should have only fought with 1 and 2, but the Japanese gut was a bit dirty (or just clueless it didn't make much sense) so we had to fight with a few others due to losing time. Came first due to errors mainly wasn't fastest, but wasn't losing to anyone either, I just didn't come off or get pushed off. Not going again on OZ, still C and although the S should get me a better split can't be bothered with this.

Slot 2 and I’m door 6 in a 175 point room. The only F-Type in the lobby.

Qualifying starts badly as I start right on the edge of slipstream to the WRX in front. By halfway through lap 1 I’m lifting to avoid hitting the back of him. Q10. Lap 2 and I am close enough to use the slip to slingshot past on the straight. WRX decides he’ll try and dive beneath at turn 1 and from there the lap is a write off. In and back out with 1 minute and 2 seconds on the clock. I make the start line by a few seconds and proceed to do a lap that feels good, but not great. 56.1xx and Q2.

Into the race and I avoid any real trouble on lap 1, tucking in behind P1. Turn 1, lap 2 and a hero in a different WRX decides diving from 0.4 seconds back seems reasonable. Pushes me into the sand and gets a 3 sec penalty for his trouble. I recover but get barged wide through the left hander before the esses by an NSX. Down to P6. Into recovery mode I put my head down and drive smooth and consistently. The WRX drops behind after serving his penalty and Bargearse up ahead is causing havoc and the P2-4 pack comes back to me. I pick off 4th and 3rd as they make mistakes and then the NSX hangs it out too wide through the final turn and I get a run through the apex. Back to P2 but around 8 seconds off the lead by this stage.

The rest of the race is high quality respectful racing. With a Cayman?!? Who gets by me on about lap 10. We battle for the next 14 laps as I outrun him on the straight but he is consistently quicker out of turns. By lap 20 he is clearly struggling with tyres but the Jag is handling ok. I sit on his bumper until lap 24 when I set myself up to get a run on the main straight with a view to passing and then defending my position like a madman for a lap. With this perfectly set up, the Porsche pits to put on mediums

I get a processional final lap and bring it home in second for 164 points.

One and done!

In with @RX8 Racer and also door no.19 out of 19. Hadn’t practiced much so wasn’t expecting to do that well. Was sitting on pole until last few seconds which was a huge surprise.

Race started well with myself and the RCZ pulling out a gap to the NSX. A big gap had appeared behind him so was just the 3 of us. As the Pugs tired wore he started to hold me up enabling the NSX to get back into draft. Lap 13, NSX got past me and on the final bend, couldn’t believe it when as he went past the RCZ, the pug pulled a pit wall manoeuvre, desperately trying to force the NSX into the pits. However, it backed fired on him as the NSX started spinning meaning he ghosted and the Pug went through the ghost and into the pits! NSX was now 4.5 seconds behind me but did well to close me down and pass me on lap 24. Didn’t mind one bit. Delighted with the result!

Entered the race after a really bad day. Assigned to slot 3 in Asia region.

Qualified at p2. Overtook p1 on the 1st lap and able to finish the race safely. 299pts is the highest points I got in my GTS life.

But when I was watching the film, i saw that I hit p1 when I was overtaking him at the 1st lap. Not sure if @AE_Conzio is here, but if you are here, hope you will accept my apology and I’m sure I will let you overtake me if we meet again.

Don't think I'll manage to get any racing done today. Internet is terrible.

Been disconnected from a few dailies and had some lag according to drivers in the lobbies I've been in.

EDIT: Surely for those driving FF's you have to pit?
