Talking about our MFA and Dibu Martinez, people here in Argentina were joking a few days ago that he should be our Minister of Foreign Affairs, since he at least speaks fluent English, while our Minister of Foreign Affairs ("chancellor"), well... he doesn't :ouch:

It's both a false equivalence (tradition != human rights; host country making the event about itself != people striving to make everyone accepted at the world's largest single-sport event) and, in drawing it, an admission that if the cloak should be allowed so rainbow t-shirts/hats/flags/armbands and symbols should be too.

Prerty sure I saw plenty of Palestinian flags on the various photos of celebrating teams.
