My issue is Skaife saying what he said. The kid made a mistake, but on a slick tyre on wet grass, how is any driver rookie or veteran, going to gain control of a car, again on wet grass and mud? The only option at that moment, was to hang on for dear life. That or if he had a chance, aim for the wall on the right.
I’m not giving Goddard a pass for the lock up, but at that location, no way to stop that car and not be bogged down. I can’t see any driver choosing that option. We’ve seen plenty offs and collisions there over the years. Wet and dry.
