I was putting together this morning's SpeedBites and was so amused by the headlines from this pair of stories that I put them back-to-back:

"It's none of the drivers' business how I run F1, but I'll meet with a driver over how I run F1"...

(the meeting was seemingly in connection with the swearing punishment, which was an MBS edict)

Not sure if this is the right place.

But I've bought a Dutch GP ticket for 2025

Anyone else here going? Tip - i'm staying in Rotterdam, it's about 80% cheaper than staying in Amsterdam and still easily accessible as there will be shuttle buses, or if not the trains will be fine, 1 hour with a change at Haarlem. Instead of £1200 for a hotel I've paid £244 for Thurs-Mon!

Hello,

My wife was very generous this Christmas and bought us F1 tickets for Silverstone. Now we are trying to figure out where to stay and how to get there. Since we anyway fly in, we might rent a car and stay in some smaller town like Bedford (there is basically no accommodation left in Northampton and Milton Keynes unless you wanna spend 1k+ GBP per night….). Camping isn’t really an option for us.

Is it a terrible idea to go there by car every day? I mean heavy traffic for sure, but even getting on a shuttle bus etc. is taking forever I guess

Shuttle is in the same traffic jam but at least you're avoiding beeing stuck in the cues at parking lots and adding more footmiles. Bicycle/E-Scooter/Rollerskates/Skateboard/Heelys/etc. out of the trunk would be my choice after parking in a 5-10 km radius around Silverstone.
