Two more games to clinch the #1 overall pick, let's (not) goooo!

How I feel after watching the Packers inability to beat the Vikings because Matt LaFleur is a fraud. I mean, look at Ben Schumacher standing behind LaFleur thinking, "get your 🤬 together, you donkey!"

But hey, whatever. The Lions play their revenge game tomorrow night and I expect Johnson to do all the stupid things he can to embarrass the 49ers. I better see Sewell throw a TD pass to Goff or even Sewell line up as QB with Skipper and Decker as wideouts.

Also, the Lions v. Vikings next Sunday has to be the Sunday night game right?

Panthers tanking the final two games. I'm fine with it. Maybe they can sneak back into the top five for the draft.

Hope Tepper invests in the off season in some kind of anti aging technology for Adam Thielen tho. The guy is literally the only reliable receiver Bryce has. 😅

That's far more likely to be the FOX Game of the Week, with everybody from the Rockies east watching it. The NFL has always put a win-or-go-home game as the last game of the season since they started flex-scheduling the entire last week. If the Commanders and 49ers both lose, it will be the Seahawks-Rams with the NFC West on the line for the winner and a long off-season for the loser. If just the Commanders lose, it will be the Commanders-Cowboys with that very likely being a lose-and-go-home game for them as the Falcons will be hosting the hapless Panthers and the Buccaneers will be hosting the almost-equally-hapless Saints. Otherwise, it will likely be either the Panthers-Falcons (with the Falcons probably needing a win to get in) or, more likely, the Chiefs-Broncos (with the Broncos almost certainly needing to not lose with the Dolphins at the hapless Jets and also the Bengals at the Steelers, along with the side "benefit" to NBC of being on Swift Watch).

Aaaaand...I was wrong. The Vikings-Lions game is the last game of the season:

I can't believe the Giants won yesterday! That is something the Jets would do you have the 1st pick locked up and to celebrate they go out and score 45 pts!

Lions at 49ers TONIGHT!

Televised nationally tonight will be Joey D's Detroit Lions as they venture out west to meet the San Francisco 49ers. I don't think the Lions will be doing any gold digging out in California, but they will play themselves a nice little football game.

--- GAME INFORMATION ---
Detroit tries to keep their excellent season going strong when they visit Santa Clara in an NFC showdown.
  • DET Lions (13-2, 2nd in NFC North) at SF 49ers (6-9, 4th in NFC West)
  • FAVORED: DET (-3.5)
  • OVER/UNDER: 50.5 points

This could be a "trap game" for the Lions, as Detroit will host the Minnesota Vikings next week. We will have to see if Detroit can still play some great football with San Francisco trying to play spoiler.

Enjoy tonight's game!

I think the Lions will this game to setup a winner take all final game next Sunday night against the Vikings
I thought it's a winner take all game next week anyway even if the niners beat the lions tonight.

I think you are right @daan If they lose tonight they will have 3 losses and would have to beat Vikings to get the No.1 seed. I wonder if they lose tonight do the Eagles have a chance to get the No.1 seed as well. I don't think they are but not absolutely sure

Philadelphia is locked at the 2 seed because Minnesota already has 14 wins. Even if the Eagles win next week, they lose the tiebreaker vs both Minnesota and Detroit.

We can't even lose properly  The #1 overall slipped away with a frivolous win over Indy. I get the feeling NE isn't happy with Maye and could take a QB #1 overall. I hear rumblings that we 'should' pick Sanders, I'd be fine with that, if he's available @ #2 🤷‍♂️

Revenge game complete. I sure wish you had your full D-lineup for next week @Joey D. Even still, it's gonna be one of the best games to watch this season. GL man, I'm still pulling for your Lions to be in the SB.

Jerome

Yeah it would be great if the Lions win the SB. I like the way they play. I have give Campbell credit he and Brad Holmes have really changed the culture there. That is the kind of of coach that I want for the Jets somebody that will come in and coach the whole team and set the tone for team. That probably won't happen but if it can happen in Detroit it is possible to here with the Jets

Not possible for the Jets unless Woody Johnson becomes uninvolved with the team.

Fun fact. Before last night, the last time the Lions beat the 49ers in San Fran was November 2, 1975. They beat them plenty of times at home since then but never on the road. The win last night also made Detroit 8-0 on the road this season, the only team to do so.

Also, the Lions have more wins this season than they did in three seasons under Matt Patricia.

I'm still having a hard time accepting the Lions are good when, for the majority of my life, they've been basement dwellers who ruin the careers of generational talent. Next week against the Vikings will possibly be the greatest regular season game ever. Two juggernaut teams fighting for not only the division but the conference. I feel bad for the Bucs because whoever loses Sunday night will take out all their frustrations on poor Tampa Bay.

One last regular season week of NFL football, and it is Week 18. No Thursday or Monday games this week. Some teams are gearing up for the Playoffs. Some are playing for one last Playoffs push. Everybody else are simply playing for pride. Let me try to set up this final week of regular season action.

* Both of Ohio's NFL teams are in action, both on the road, and both playing on Saturday. The Cleveland Browns will head down to Baltimore to take on the Baltimore Ravens. Dolph Drago's Cincinnati Bengals look to take down Fezzik's Pittsburgh Steelers in Pittsburgh.

* The Carolina Panthers will go down to the ATL and try to ground the Atlanta Falcons.

* The Houston Texans will try to end their back-to-back losses when they go to Nashville to battle the Tennessee Titans.

* The Buffalo Bills want to put on another smashing performance this week after their dominating win against the Jets last week. This time, the Bills are on the road at the New England Patriots.

* Jump-Ace's New York Giants will try to suppress the Philadelphia Eagles in Philly.

* The Denver Broncos host the Kansas City Chiefs and try to hand them their second loss.

* The Los Angeles Rams will host the Seattle Seahawks in an NFC West battle.

* Omnis' Miami Dolphins head all the way up to the shadow of New York City to clash with Blitz24 and kjb's New York Jets.

* Win, and you win the NFC North and the top NFC seed. It's Joey D's Detroit Lions hosting the Minnesota Vikings.

These are among many more games. Enjoy this final regular season week!

The Bengals' slim playoff hopes...

Pittsburgh is always a pain in the side for us. I can envision a scenario where Cincy is leading or tied near the end of the game and the Steelers are driving. Then a field goal will knock us out. IF the Bengals manage to win, then...

...I can't believe I'm going to be rooting for the Chiefs. We need them to knock off Denver, but since they locked up the #1 seed, they're going to be resting their starters. I'd also argue they have more incentive to LOSE since it will keep the potent Cincy offense out of the playoffs. IF KC still pulls off the win, then...

...Miami needs to drop their game to @Blitz24 and @kjb's hapless Jets. Can NYJ please, please, please pull off a miracle if it comes down to it??

Thats why I'm pulling so hard for the Lions, I would love to see them win, and win big. Same could be said for the Browns. Football is arguably at its best when teams rise from the ashes and slaughter teams they 'shouldn't' Or it is for me at least. Heck, the early years of Patriots football was great to see...they just didn't stop winning >_< except against the G-Men baby wooooo! And the Chefs a couple years ago, good stuff.

Yes, we are. Even if the Seahawks beat us this weekend, we get the division over them because of strength of something or other victory.
