Responsible populism is saying "We're gonna end the war and cut waste and fraud so that we can spend the money at home where it matters." Not, oh, we're gonna do XYZ and here's more stimulus checks and hey let's just inflate the money supply forever kind of populism.
There is nothing responsible about forcing Ukraine to surrender to the aggressor. That would be disastrous for Ukraine and it would make the world a lot more dangerous, since you're essentially rewarding Russia for starting wars.

Not only is it morally wrong, but an unstable global economy would hurt the US economy as well so even from an entirely egoistic American perspective it's moronic to support Russian aggression.

They definitely had the feel of elitism and disconnection from grassroots sentiment, which is ironic considering their insane emphasis on identity politics.
Harris had possibly the largest amount of donations from the grassroots donors in US history, $50 million alone in her first week.
neglecting the economic concerns of the broader working class
Which in turn, was being lied to by Republicans by "gas & egg" prices as an example of a bad economy even though the US economy was the strongest coming out of Covid & continuing upwards.
not to mention the border situation
Another lie deep throated by conservatives to paint immigrants as criminals even though the vast majority of them committed way less "rape & murders" than US citizens. I still find it funny how Republicans ran on Biden "importing illegals" yet remain silent to this day that my dumb ass Governor & your dumb ass Governor were chartering flights for them deeper into America to own the libs rather than deport them themselves.

Right, but if that is the popular sentiment, it shows a big time failure in communication and/or presentation from the dems. They got reamed by the trumpets in that regard

Putting AOC on the ballot is doubling down on what made people turn on the democrats in the first place. Regular people don't want that. People don't want America looking like the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.
I mean I don't like AOC but...and this can't be overstated...she did not trans the Paris Olympics. My god. Modern American conservatism is mental illness.

Putting AOC on the ballot is doubling down on what made people turn on the democrats in the first place. Regular people don't want that. People don't want America looking like the Paris Olympics opening ceremony. All they gotta do is be a normal person with sane, non-controversial views, and be serious about and/or capable of balancing the budget. The democrats would have beaten Trump handily if they divorced themselves from Biden's awful administration and ran people on a "responsible populism" platform. Everyone switched over because that party has just gotten so insane that they don't even identify with them anymore.
I didn't know house minority leader Hakeem Jeffries joined the forum.
