2025 Touring Car Thread - BTCC, TCR, and more.Touring Cars

First day of the pre-season test at Croft got underway today. Unsurprisingly the cars are significantly quicker already with them being lighter.

Max Hall could be one to watch...

(even if he is only driving a Cupra)

OK, that’s great for many but how about the US? What kind of TV deal is in place, does anyone know?

The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship is delighted to announce its largest ever television deal in North America, after agreeing a multi-year contract which will see the championship broadcast on the giant CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) to 60+ million households across the US and Canada.

A one-hour BTCC highlights programme will be screened on CBSSN in a prime time (Eastern time) slot on Wednesdays – ten days after each event – and will then re-air during prime time (Pacific time) soon after. The 24-hour home of CBS Sports will broadcast the highlights programme as part of its ‘Torque.TV’ Block on Wednesday evenings.

The huge CBS Sports Network televises nearly 600 live events and over 3,000 hours of live programming every year.

Furthermore, www.Torque.TV – North America’s new home for motorsports and high performance automotive lifestyle – will also carry each one-hour BTCC highlight programme for 90 days after each event via its VOD (Video On Demand) platform.
I thought it was broadcast on NBC Sports.

Anyway, seems like the same deal DirecTv had on SpeedVision when I watched way back in the early 2000s.

Wow just a 1 hour highlights package after the fact? That's bold to claim that as a TV deal, North America losing out in a big way to the rest of the world here it seems.

One Motorsport have revealed their livery for the season ahead, and I think it looks really good to be honest.

It's good to see Jelley back on the grid, but at the same time, good that he's not taking up a seat in a Bimmer.... instead we've got...

<checks notes>

DeLeon.

Oh.

I'm going to miss Turk.

Yeah DeLeon impressed me at times last year. He's young and has a lot of potential, RWD might just suit his aggressive driving style a bit better.

For the same reason as @MatskiMonk this is the same season for over a decade where I don’t have much interest in.

Looking forward to the season ahead, intrigued to see how Shedds gets on, likewise both the One Honda's, would like to see them mount a charge.

Was looking to book tickets for Donington but work has got in the way. Plan to get tickets for Thruxton though as that's a new one for me. Slowly ticking them off the list having been to Silverstone, Brands and Donington now.

Only four rounds. Just cancel the series and everyone get in GT4 cars.

Edit: That’s one

Edit2: Guess that’s two.

Cars are already so much more fast and lively since ditching the hybrid system.

Only difference now is since boost is done by the Turbo and not the electrical power boost last year, drivers have to hold it down longer to make use of it. Looking forward to race day tomorrow.

New light panels as well on the cars to show when it's being used and when it's deleted, as well as light panels to show what compound the cars are on which will be handy for trackside viewer.

Just happy that they’re racing in the sun after all the rain for last year’s opener. Old battles resumed for Sutton and Ingram. Also good to see the Civic back on the grid and running well in Cook’s hands.
