dunno if this is the right place to post if so mods please move to appropriate place (either here or race reports)

anyway.. was just wandering if the 2000 Ford XR8 race car would be a suitable car to compete in and win the 24 hours with???

if not ill keep doing Amalfi easy in the Special conditions hall till i get another .7 million so i can go out and buy the toyota GT1 and still have 1 million left over...

i look forward to some sleep on sunday....

and then maybe letting you all in on the action in a write up...

:scared::scared::scared:

Apart from tyre wear, you'd be fine. I'd even say that's overkill... I used a stock 350Z LM, and that worked fine. Would you be running your car stock?? Would you be doing A-spec or B-spec?? It all depends.

If it's anything like GT3, it will eat front tires like bubble gum. I loved that car in GT3 for just hooning around in, but it was a problem for races, because the front tires would go away pretty early, and then it would just plow like a garbage scow.

It'll win, probably pretty easily. The Toyota GT-One would just be ridiculous overkill. A JGTC300 car is enough to win convincingly here, given that your opponents are DTMs, JGTC300s, the Falken Skyline, BMW M3 GTR. Steer clear of lineups with the Chaparral 2D in though, he's majorly quick compared with the rest of the entrants.

Here's a little something I just finished up a week or so ago! Just so you know I'm not kidding.

You'll be doing 24 hours on the 'Ring, not in it!
That'd imply some sort of marathon boxing match!!!

That's kind of ironic! The 350Z LM (Fairlady LM in NTSC) is a much, much quicker and better balanced car than the Falcon XR8, and thus even more of an overkill ride for this race! :sly::P

That's very true! We used it for an event at SFGTP2, it has an appetite for front tyres that'd make Mr. Creosote look like an anorexic pansy! :scared:
That said, with a little suspension tweaking you should be able to lap so much faster than the AI here that a few extra pitstops won't hurt anyway!

Take a look in here if you're curious as to exactly which cars you might end up racing against.

Good luck with your race, look forward to hearing about it if you're going to drive it yourself! 👍
B-Spec with Toyota GT-One on the otherhand?

yeah thanks guys much appreciated

(im still buying the GT1....and all the black cars)...."i like fast cars".....

my first post that has lasted at least a day and brought funny's with it...

The Toyota GT-One is a great car, you should have no problem agianst other cars of it's class... it is one of my favs, although I like all the class-C/LMP cars...

any JGTC cars should do fine, if you really want to make sure you win it with no effort use a GTS/GTR class car like the Mclaren or Viper but it will be redicoulous overkill...

I'm just going to run it in my DBR9 (I whish, just a fully-tuned DB9 coupe)

heyy guys what about the 24 hours of Le Mans?? im guessing im going to kinda need the GT-ONE or something like it because of the longs straights and the competition im going to be up against??

Yes, certainly for the Sarthe races, the GT-One is a corking ride! 👍
As far as the opponents you can expect, take a look at the last link I posted in my first reply in this thread, as it lists every possible AI opponent in every one of the 16 endurance races, and their pit strategies. ;)

For a little more information on what to expect in the 24 hour races, have a look at our race reports forum, and try using our "Search This Forum" function (top right of the forum list) to look for keywords like "GT-One" or "Sarthe" within there.

A black, used Toyota GT-One eventually secured me a full complement of A-spec points at one of the Sarthe races, and provided great racing excitement in the meantime!

Yeah stick with this car. I just took the falcon xr8 on a run on the ring and it cornered pretty well. It does wear out the front tires faster than the rear though so when the tires get closer to red, expect some understeer.

heyy guys

bad news...had to call off my Epic race for a couple of weeks due to assignments and other stuff ive got going :(

ahhh well at least i can keep racing and earn some more money for cars. :)

School? Pah. Is it that time already... :(

Theres always the Christmas holidays to do it though. ;)

I say go with whatever you want.

OFF-TOPIC: Since this topic seems to be about if a car can win a certain race, what do you calculate the odds of a maxed-out Ginetta G4 winning the El Capitan 200 to be?

Almost certain. I won with a stock NSX Type R, many others have won with lesser cars with that. Your Ginetta would slaughter it's opponents.

How many A-Spec points would I get for my efforts?
(Also, I'll probably end up doing a writeup for this race.)

nah im in Australia :) but yeah i got heaps off assignments to do :grumpy: and i got stuff to do next weekend :grumpy: so i probs wont get my EPIC adventure underway for a good 2 or 3 weeks :nervous:

I'd go with this car unless your B-specing.

if i was to wuss out and B-spec then what car would you reccomend???

You kidding me that would be over kill for Nurb...

Bob should be able to win with a JGTC GT500 car or GTS car.. but an LMP insures a win, 100% by a landslide....

Yeah I have.. for all 3, 24 hour races and bob was always between 5-8 seconds faster...(used a fully tuned R92CP for sarthe 2, Bentley for sarthe 1) and for this race I used the JGTC Denso SARD Supra and he could handle the fast setting and he pulled lap times of around 7:14:Xxx which was 4 to 5 seconds faster than the second place M3 race car.

SO have YOU used B-spec?

Nope just leave it on 3 and overtake on and he will always use whatever you picked last at the pits... the pace and overtake will never change unless you change them, going into the pits doesn't affect them...

I just started up a 24 run at the Ring this morning.

I just threw Bob into the Pescarolo Courage C60.
I figure that he doesn't really receive anything for running the race, so why try to make it a close race.

If I wanted a close race, I would run it myself. Unfortunately the time needed for me to run the race is a luxury I don't have at this point in time. So I sent Bob off to the races for me.

i done this the other day in the toyota GT one race car and not kidding i had to refuel every 2 laps or so and change tyres mind u it does have over 1000BHP:dopey:

I've done the 24 hours of the ring some weeks ago... b-spec with a 350z LM race car ,about 600 hp, x3 speed, pilot speed 3 and overtake button ever on, I must stay up only every about 15 minutes to check the pit stop and reset the speed at 3x... done it in about 9 hours..
I think using a gt-one or any le mans car is an overkill, you must do hundreds pit stops... so waste many time...

wouldnt i have to stay up to press pit every lap to change the rear tyres on the Totoya GT-ONE???

No, Bob is smart enough to pit when his tires are shot, so you don't have to stay up. However, if the tires are only yellow (for instance) at the end of the first lap, and flaming red in the middle of the second, causing Bob to spin in every corner, then you need to either stay up or try a different car. If Bob does okay, though, and pits on the correct laps, and you decide not to stay up, it will take longer to finish because it resets to x1 speed after every pit stop.
