24 Hours of Nürburgring - June 21st-22nd 2014

It seems that the official feed has reverted to the pit exit cam once again. Suggestions for better feeds?

Edit: it now shows a race recap.

So bootiful

Just for you:

Viper was excluded from the race and will be reported to a German Association of something related to cars/racing.

What was the offence?

You have to get the cars to slow down before they get to that zone. There are people on the track dealing with whatever issue caused the yellow in the first place.

I could understand on the ring especially in nordschelfe section, but at a track Like Circuit De La Sarthe?

Also, I don't see the rationale for the Timed Pit Stops (which was what I was finding pointless about today's race).

It crashed with a support vehicle. The support vehicle was stopped and there was a slow zone at the moment with yellow flags. It also resulted in the crash of another car (a mini). I think it was it but I can be wrong. However the exclusion is confirmed.

Has the Nurburgring 24 Hour ever been broadcast on TV in its history?

Code 60 worked fine at dubai, and will work on La Sarthe as well. No SC please that decides the race for us.

Cant tire manufacturers make run-flat racing tires ? .. Won't it resist shredding better ? So it would be easier and faster to get to the pits.

Run flat tyres have very rigid side walls so would require very different suspension set-ups. The lack of deformation could introduce significant performance penalties.

Not at night as far as I remember, even in Germany.

The ring is too big. Helicopters can't be used at night and cameras would be cause to much "radio wave pollution". And yes thats a official statement.

It was decided by the FIA/WEC/ACO to avoid safety cars if at all possible to maintain the purity of the race rather than close the field up and this is the method chosen. I agree 100% with this rule.

As for timed pitstops, that's a VLN/N24 rule.

The only thing I would like is the harsh penalties for not slowing down applied to LeMans.
