24 Nurb is borked after tire wear changes

As if the 24hr Le Mans race pit bug wasn't enough, now the 24hr Nurb is borked as well. Racing soft tires last one lap and mediums 2 laps while the hard last 3 laps. Most of the fast (read LMP) AI cars try to run 3 laps on medium race tires and end up doing 3/4 of the 3rd lap on bald tires.

End result is if you run a reasonably fast car, you'll always win. Just set Bob (level 40) to pit every 2 laps and you're sure to win!

Just as an example: I'm currently running the Bentley Speed 8 and before the update, this car would win the 24hr Nurb race against the Audi R8 '01 by 2 laps. It's not even 2 and a half hours into the current race and it's already lapped the Audi... :dunce:

Ha! ha!

The tire compound Bug has been fixed.
Different grades of tire now degrade at different rates as it should be...

You now do have to choose.....
Number of laps Vs grip level.
Before tires ran out at the same number of laps no matter what compound.

This would have made B-spec races realy active...
Let me guess the Audi R10 is now the best car as it was at lemans... as it alway did more laps on 1 set of tires as it will drive normaly as its tires are not nackered...

Nope, the R10 is 6th behind the McLaren F1 GTR lol! They never modeled the R10 correctly and the tire wear update still didn't help.

I agree that the tires now wear at different rates as real tires should but they went waaaay overboard on the amount of wear. PD has to either readjust the tire wear or the cars in order to make B-Spec endurance racing somewhat realistic. As it stands, it's a joke.

Has it may be been done to force you to actualy manage the event instead of Hitting GO and abandoning it. As you said you had to turn on the pit options to avoid the bad tires. This means You can't run events With just 1 driver or if you do use 1 driver you take the bad tires penalty.
I will run an X2011 and see what happens.

Yeah, they were supossed to make the harder compounds last longer, not make the softs wear faster! Tire wear was stupid before the update now it's just a joke!

I've always set the pit options for the endurance races... just not at 70% and always use 4 drivers. Did you ever run the 24hr Nurb with any race car other than the X2011 or the FGT?

The X2011 weights so little that Tire wear is not amplified like the lemans cars are...
Yep the BMW weighs less than the R10 so yep its tires will last longer.
Sorry that makes sense after all.

Yep 908 closed cock pit no flys, but You didn't have to set the pit options and a level 40 driver can win it even on his own.
Thats why this may have been done to force players to use more than 1 or 2 drivers and to force Pit stops.
Nips off to see how EU TC races fair as you could race with out pitting before and win easy.

Edit = Nope EU TC uses Sports tire so no effect on B-spec.

As it stands now, you could conceivably win using only one driver whereas before the update, you absolutely had to use 4 drivers to win if using anything else other than the X2010/11 or FGT.

Update on the current race: 12 hours 50 minutes into the race and my Bentley Speed 8 has lapped the 2nd place car 5 times... a McLaren F1. That McLaren is about half a lap ahead of the 3rd place car: an Audi R8 Race Car (Team Playstation)... now how realistic is that? LoL!

Thats very realistic for Le man as LMGTE Pro class cars beat Prototypes at lemans in the final standings all the time.
Its why 24 hr races have Class systems not only is there the full race but you have 3-4 different class races at the same.
The top viper or corvette normaly pops up in the final standings top ten.

That's because the cars break down IRL but they don't in GT5. Wouldn't that be great though? LoL! In any case, it's my opinion that this tire wear update broke endurance racing in general, whether B-Spec, A-Spec, or online.
