OK here's another of me and VG30DETT's idea's for a spot race. Please dont get all technical about the 280hp thing...... this is just what we are calling it ok?

Anyways on the this spot race. This time we are gonna throw up a list of cars that are available you cant use their race car or tuner versions. You will be given a list of modifications to do this vechicle. Then you will get in a clean hotlap at Tokyo.

The Players:
Honda/Acura NSX
Mazda RX-7
Mitsubishi 3000GT
Mitsubishi Evolution Lancer (any of the Evolutions as long as its not a rally, tuner, or race car)
Nissan Skyline (GTR's 32,33, and 34)
Nissan 300ZX
Subaru WRX STi (Wagons Sedans Coupe's whatever as long as its not a rally, tuner, or race vehicle)
Toyota Supra

Your mods:
Oil Change
Racing Aircleaner and Exhaust
Racing Chip
Clutch/Single
Flywheel/racing
Simulation Tires:D

Lets keep discussions to T times as always and clean laps only.
Alrighty lets fire up these Rice rockets and be off. Think we'll give this one about 5 days....... so we'll see where we all stand sometime late friday night and hopefully we'll have a better turn out.

holy crap. this outta be interesting. I know which car id LIKE to use, but i dont know if its gonna be the best one or not

haha, you know me too well. however i already know its not gonna have the top end it needs to make it down that looooong straight. i doubt the EVO's will be geared well enough for that either. someone do me a favor, tell me how much HP the r34 vspec skyline has after the race exhaust, oil change, and chip, w/ 0 miles on the clock...i wanna know if somthin wierds goin on w/ my game or not

Sorry, I was posting in the race thread.
375 for both I and II.
Horsepower will be your friend @Tokyo.
Too bad they don't give the drag coefficients.

thanks, i thought somthin screwy was goin on, cuz the cars rated at 276 from the dealer, but you get it in your garage and magically it has 321hp, thought somthin wierd was goin on, but after the mods mine came out to 375 also so its all good. Well ive done some testing, and where to start. well first off. Wow. i hope you like drifting!!! So far ive narrowed it down to about 3 or 4 that are quite close to each other. The Evo VII RS, R34 Skyline, NSX S-Zero, and RX-7 :) I only did one lap in each of these cars, but got times there were almost exactly one second off of each other. The RX-7 proves to me once again why I love it so much, setting the fastest time so far, and seems to be the most stable car out all of them, coming in close second was the NSX S-Zero, the MR configuration helps keep a balance about it as well, but still not as easy to drive as the RX7. It does have some nice top end howver. (i tested the cars in the 1000m ,w/ tcs, just to save frustration and the NSX and Skyline pulled almost identical times. at the 400m the skyline was almost .2 or .3 seconds ahead of the nsx, but the 1000m the NSX reeled him to get a time that was only like .002 off the Skylines time. I thought that was pretty cool) coming in third in my one lap trial was the skyline, VERY tail happy car. drives a lot like a RWD car instead of a 4wd car. gotta be real easy on the throttle. And coming in last was the EVO VII, tho i gotta say. i never really gave this car any attention in the past, but lately have been testing it for different races, and i gotta say im pleased w/ how well it hangs w/ "the big boys", tho it is quite a chore to drive, UNDERSTEER CITY. If youre nice to it im sure it'll be nice to you tho. Finally, i must talk about another car...the supra. i dont quite know what to say about this car. at first i wanted to say "run!! run away!!!" but i did a couple laps in this car, and tho i had to fight it the whole way, got a time comparable to the 4 top cars id picked. Now i cant really say much since ive only done one lap in the cars and really havent figured out their true potential yet, but I think the supra might have a chance at being a contender BUT ITS GONNA TAKE A LOTTA WORK!! God have mercy on you if you choose to run that car. well thats about what ive spend my last hour and half doing. hehe, hopefully i'll find some time to run some more on this tomorrow after work. This is definently gonna be a challenge. Driving that mustang seems like an F1 car now, man, i thought that thing had traction issues....haha.

You know, you could have just provided a link in your last thread. ;)

At any rate, I'll rep the NSX.

Also, where should we run this? Arcade or Sim? I ran the last competition in Sim. It was tricky with other cars on the track.

Sorry I didnt get a time down for the 60k challenge Tofu (work etc...) but I will give this one a go, I think I'll choose the NSX or maybe the Supra.
I take it theres no TCS n ASM buy the way?

No worries liquid yellow........ I know how that goes....... errrr used to at least hehe.......... I think imma see if I cant make the EVO a competitor. And this time as well no TCS or ASM. Sim tires are fun right guys?

Well right off the bat, the EVO's and STi's are gone (4-bangers + long straights = not very good). I think I'll go with the NSX, RX-7 or R34. I would have thought the 4WD of the R34 would have given it an advantage with SIM tyres, interesting that it does not change much.

Ok I got some times in with my lil EVO and I dont think it's pulling to bad on the straight away here. I think I'm doing about 130-132mph hour when I cross the line. Is that uder par compared to all the "BIG" boys?

T1: 16.947
T2: 1'07.170

Easily more to come out of those times. Seems surprisingly not as frustrating as I thought it might be for me with sim tire's on.

I think my RX7 pulled a time similar to yours tofu, maybe a tiny bit slower, but thats about the range all the cars were in so far

Sounds interesting. Already have some of it laid down with the cars. That Evolution would be tempting but I think I might use that Supra or maybe even that 300zx. :D

Yes you are correct....... Aracade mode....... free run....... garage vehicle specified.

OK, thanks. :)

I'm discovering that the NSX is a right ho-bag with simulation tires. You can't tread lightly enough on the throttle in the turns... >_<

you just like to punish yourself dont you? haha. i didtn even attempt the 300zx, and the supra...i dont know, like i said, it has potential....but youve gotta have some real patience to do it w/ that car.

got a first what i THOUGHT was clean save in the r34, only to find i had a wall scrape. times in that one were 17.0/1'06.1 ....best t2 in the rx7 so far is a 1'06.0, and a (dirty) lap thats about .100 behind the skyline so far. still not getting past the 17.0/16.9 barrier for t1 but i hope it comes down. i already know the last half of the track is the stronger part for me, ive never been too good w/ the first half

Well, first thoughts.
#1 NSX -> This might be the car to beat in the right hands. The Gearing is excellent. It does have a slight twitch in its understeer/oversteer ability.
#2 RX-7 -> Not for me. Overall it has what it takes to bring the checkered flag for this race, but like I said, not my style. I also know IDAFC is dealy with that car.
#3 300zx -> What a joke. It is not the fact that it is not a contender, it is the fact that its setup won't allow it to contend.
#4 Supra -> My #2 car. Throttle control, steering control and wire like walking will bring this baby close to the NSX.
#5 R33 -> Wanted something a little different. Acts like a FR car. Could look like a FR car. May even smell like a FR car. But it has AWD.

yeah, i had a lotta fun w/ that one. This one will a challenge tho, im actually surprised how equal most of the cars are (so far anyways, havent really done any extensive racing yet) i feel it could quite possibly be any cars game w/ this race tho, which makes it cool
