Computer Games technology sounds really interesting, I will probably do something like Sports Science when I go to Uni, but first I still have to start my 2 years at college in September doing a National Diploma in Sport.
What are you hoping to do after Uni Ardius?

And also, why has the PAL Drivers league table disappeared?

Get a job as a games programmer hopefully, I'm currently applying for an industrial placement right now. Not much luck yet though.
The table hasn't disappeared? Imageshack might be screwing up again. It doesnt really matter, I'll hopefully update them tonight at some point.

Cool, my boss is a lecturer in Computer Game Science at UCL.

Nice, I kind of wish I had more lecturers who had more industry experience, but what the hey.

Computer Games Technology, yeah I know, sounds like fun

:drool: I would have went straight for that had any of the Universities had that as an option here (I think one does, but its about 200mile from where I live :ouch:) So I chose Physics :dopey: it's interesting and I'm starting computer programming in it when I get back so it should become a lot lot more fun.

When do you guys want me to perfect fusion?! :sly:

Interestingly his project at Uni resulted in the International Cricket Captain game, which 10+ years later he is still running. Good for you, Ardius. Interesting area to go into. Me, I can look forward to mental shifts running a restaurant! A friend of one of my mates was doing 80hr weeks before Christmas!

Heh, funny that because I was considering doing physics or history before this course popped up. I'm even considering focusing on learning physics programming either that or general games programming is what I want to do.

Lets just say that one of my current assignments is to design and build a Quake map......we don't have to get it working in Quake just design/build it but thats not fun enough so we've messed about with Open Arena (open source Quake 3) and I'm currently testing my early designed maps through that. Definitely not boring.

GT4 Genius, sorry but you're too late, I perfected Cold Fusion last night, no-one knows yet and everyone knows that Cold Fusion is much better than Nuclear Fusion, no matter how far-fetched it might be.
But I did it. It's in my room, powering my PS3 right now.

NTSC Drivers: Z officially takes Chiboss' seat as of today. 👍

Hmm So he was serious. I don't even know what happened?

So what's everyone getting for laptimes on Monaco? I throw my crappy time out, but around 1:15, and that's being conservative. Any faster and I'm snapping a front axle off sooner rather than later.:scared::ouch:

Speaking of Monaco, Lets take a lap around the track onboard with Fernando Alonso:

When I do a lap without a penalty or snapping off one or both of my front wheels I'll let you know.

Yeah I just ran a practice with formulanone/ Z. He ran a 1:12.3xx as fastest lap. Not going to mention my lap. I with you vdub. :nervous:

Hey anyone interested we may all benefit from doing several practice races at Monte Carlo over the next couple of evenings. I think it would be a good thing to soley work on running laps without making contact, instead of worrying about speed right now. Do you all think that could be useful? I dont want this race to turn into a cluster or comedy of errors.

I'm up for it -- while I've got my pace down for the most part, what I don't have is any consistency. I hit the wall 3x and had 5 penalties in that 20 lap session with Sumpington.

Sorry I stepped down & I'm going to miss Monaco! :sly:

I'll bet those cranes are going to be working overtime hauling the wreckage off the track. :)

(Wet would be especially interesting! 👍)

Hey you wanna fill in if needed? Sunday at 9pm east

I'll likely be around this evening. I love Monaco, when I can tune the car, but with the online defaults, its a bit frustrating. I'll look for you guys online. 👍

Sorry to just split on our little race at the CURSED track tonight. In second race 4 laps in a row @#@&**# penalty on the same turn,I just blew a fuse and turned the game off. I see no need in any futher practice at Monaco for me.

I am certianly mentally challenged or have a severe problem, because I cant seem to finish a lap with 3 wheels. LOL

So I wasn't the only one that blew up. I just had to leave, I can't stand it one bit. I will not be in any practices for the race and will most likely forfeit the race for the sake of avoiding it all together.

Can I 3rd that motion , :banghead:🤬 Monaco.

1 lap = 4 crashes :ouch:

Haha, wow, I wish I could race in NTSC, sounds like an easy victory :dopey:

I love Monaco, as long as I get a good qualy position and get a good start off the line, its smooth sailing for the rest of the race, just have to take it all careful and hope the drivers behind aren't too eager to get past (like the AI, who sometimes really annoy me here, more because of the consequences of them spinning me, although it isn't as likely at this track, its 10x more annoying).

My practices usually consist of just doing a full race as I hate the glare on the time trials. It's also good practice in the pits too. However, I like to start at the back of the grid so that i can practice overtaking as well as fast laps, but every time I get into a points position, I puncture my tyre and have to pit, thus putting me last again, with lots of fuel.
WITH lots of fuel, I have managed a low 1:14 but that is with 30+ laps of fuel in the car. I reckon I could get into the 1:12s if only I got a clean break. So my next practice will consist of me starting in the front, then hopefully with a clean race and no tyre punctures I should be able to get some decent times in.

Any chance of turning collisions OFF, for the Monaco race? 💡

I know many have problems getting through the course, just by themselves. Seems like passing online would be close to impossible here anyways.

Just a thought.

But then it would just be a time trial.....and Monaco would no longer be Monaco...the whole point of this track is being able to stop people overtaking, if we can just drive through one another, whats the point in racing?

I'd love to race Monaco with you guys, not going to happen I'm afraid. Good news, I don't see any obstacles for next week as it's half-term after that.
