I really like Hockenheim but I have this feeling that there will be a massive pile up at turn 6 on the first lap, and several wrecks between turn 9/10.

That first lap is the most nerve racking lap of the race for me. It's no sweat against the, AI but I know what the AI is going to do. Against human competitors I have no Idea. I can't imagine what kind of state I would be in doing this in real life.

This is because the view on your screen only shows a narrow angle of the action ahead, and very little peripheral view. Therefore, the blind spots are much bigger than in real life driving. The dynamic map will help with this situation.

Also, I've noticed that on a tight race, a few drivers try to go on the inside after running wide on a corner, more often than not, ruining someone else race. Once you run wide, you should keep your position based on HP, not by blocking. A good example happened on lap 16 or 17, Hemi went wide on the last chicane before the finish line, he powered though using the room he had available, I was close behind him but I was able to run my line and shifted to the left to give him room to get back on the clean tarmac. I ended up passing him cleanly.

I should mention that even though I have raced hard, I have not side crashed onto anybody. My rear wing have been ripped off a few times but this has happened because of misjudgment of the driver behind me (it happened twice during Catalunya race.) Notice that if my rear wing suffers, means that I was in front.

I've noticed its not as bad, if you have a 16:9 ratio screen.

Looks like the NTSC race went well, sorry I had to miss it.

Looking forward to Hockenheim. 2nd half is a lot of fun.

Well practising using my G25 wheel I managed laptimes a good 8 tenths or so up on my previous best efforts with the controller, and i'm still learning all the time. The downside to this is that I can't possibly be as consistent with the wheel by sunday as I am with the controller, plus my race start and pit stops are likely to suffer. Still debating on whether or not to use this tool

lol, Rare mistake there. I'll correct that.

And I just relised, We had two rainy races so far and it would appear me and Duck are now 1-1 on the wet races. We even finished the opposite of how we finished in austrailia. This'll be interesting.

lloooolll RACECAR i think the score is 2 to 1 depending on how you count the rain races i won the first one you weren't in the tournament yet the second rain race we didn't count because of the glitch which on my screen said i won but yours said you won , and i won last night looooooll so if we throw out the second one because of the glitch i think that makes it 2 to nothing in my favor loooooooll looks like i wouldn't trust you with my money either
p.s. good race last night QUACK QUACK

We've had 3 rain races Australia, Silverstone , And Magny - Cours.

Forgot about Silverstone, although if it wasn't so glitched out, I would've won out on that. Also, the first round was a rain race? I know I wasn't there so I don't know what weather you guys raced in. I remember Austrailia clearly though (wreckfest).

@duck: When did I say I was good at math? lol

Also, Room is up, Parabolica room, password "Silver". I've been making 1'15s consistanly with 1'14 being my best.

No the first race was dry.

By the way, I'm going to be in absolute bits on sunday as on saturday I'll be drinking from about 12 before the Liverpool match starts, then we have the rugby, then I'm headed out with a bunch of mates who are just back from uni that night. So I'm not expecting much of a performance come Hockenheim, though my lap times have been promising using the G25 and I've sorted out pit stops so that they're now actually faster than they were with the sixaxis (???), so I've decided to use the wheel from now on.

ATTN: NTSC Drivers

I have a room open right now for practice if you're interested. :)

Not necessarily, but unfortunately, yes, Lennon might not be able to race for a while....
I'm going to stick to my first come, first serve rule and give Lennon the next available seat and then thirteendog.

Nothing personal, thirteendog, but I have to stick to some kind of rule in order to be fair, and Nick/Lennon has a position to defend.

Okay, but when will I know if I'm racing that night? Will I know 10 minutes before or early that morning? I don't want to plan to be home and then not race.

I just got PM'd by DaddyVDUBB - he wants me to sub in for him at the German Grand Prix - is this going to be ok ?

EDIT -
Ardius can I only sub for team Mopar since it was the original team I was involved with , or what do I do ? sorrry to sound dumb here :dunce: , just not real sure how you want to do this.

Well, it depends on how early people let me, Kak, DaddyVDUB or Nicksfix know if they cant make it.
Usually we only find out till the last minute, so its invaribly a last minute thing unfortuantely.
I don't want to be give you false hope, but I think Lofasz is going to be unavailable at the next race judging by his absense here recently, so you should have a seat for this weekend at the very least.

Quick question; can you put the position of the person with the fastest lap for each race in italics on the table Ardius?

I could, but I really cannot be arsed. Its a minor detail that I couldn't be bothered putting the effort into. I suppose it would help in the sense of helping seeing where all the points go.
I'll compromise, will a list of fastest lappers and their number of fastest laps suffice? E.g.:
Kakundoo (2), GT4 Genius (5), etc etc?

Yeah, its fine for you to sub with Daddy, and you can fill in for any team, but if you want to be specifically a "third driver" for Mopar, then thats fine too, it makes it easier for me to decide which of you gets to race at least.

Thanks Ardius - I will take on the role of 3rd driver for Team Mopar , that way it gives thirteendog a better chance of getting involved in this as well.He can take on the role of a general sub for anybody.
