There are many things I absolutely love about GT6,
There is also a MAJOR gripe and it is a little disenchanting to say the least and I must say this first:
Hoping someone can recommend a fix, perhaps it's a video setting, or just PD didn't address yet:

  • The tracks feel way too Skinny. Especially when in turns! It feels like my cars need to tightrope around the track. Is this a viewpoint error? I am certain my 4 corners are matching my 1080p screen estate. It is a major departure in terms of fondness from what I'm used to seeing and feeling in GT5. Bonnet/hood Cam current rating score: 7/10.
  • Choppiness. Ok, it's 1st day, and 20 million people are downloading 15GB's as I type this post. Let's review this 2 patches and a month later. Currently, the driving experience online is about as smooth as a baby's butt wearing coarse sandpaper diapers.

  • Pros: The menus, loading speed, and loads of A-Spec options will keep me happy until GT7 warrants me to buy that PS4.
  • Photorealism in game, on sides of tracks, crowds, i.e Goodwill, JAwDroppings!
  • Night racing, I had to pause my 3rd race at start to take a photomode picture at those lights. Oh the lit up tracks now. Added so much to this game. 24hr endurances, here we come.
  • Music, love the ability to turn the off!
  • It's here, and installed. Finally. I kissed my GT5 disc when I shelved it.

A lot of tracks feel skinny to me, Nurb especially. It's three cars wide, but feels like 1.5. I think it all boils down to the "tunnel vision" you get on any sim without triple screens. You can't see to the side unless you turn the camera perspective with a button so it forces you to view things as if you're looking through a tunnel. I don't think it can be fixed with a single monitor setup unless you go to chase cam but I'd like to see some field of view options nonetheless.

I've only just bought it, but my first drive out of the intro events was a lap of Mount Panorama, which I've driven around as a scenic road many times, and the width seems spot-on - it *is* a narrow track (as is the old 'Ring). That's a major part of the track's challenge. I think we're used to games developers artificially widening tracks to make them more newbie-friendly - certainly Bathurst (and IIRC the 'Ring) in Shift 2 were way wider than they should be. I'm using cockpit view BTW.

Quite possibly i mean looking at gt5 that game has evolved into something man with a massive following from when it first came out you know
