What about another 'grid'?I really want another TDU... Or another Test Drive game in general.
What about another 'grid'?
That's got nothing to do with Kylotonn or the article, so why have you asked that question here?
..to be fair, Race Driver (and, by extension, Grid) is an abandoned racing franchise from the early 00's that only the most dedicated of fans remember anymore.
It's right up their alley of IPs to snap up.
I'd rather have Codemasters maintain control of that IP, I feel as though they have the resources to make a better "Race Driver" than Kylotonn.
ayyy I thought I was the only one who grew up playing eve of destruction lol one of my favorite games everI really think Test Drive is the only franchise that I like just as much as GT. Haha. So I am very very excited for the next game. But no game will top Test Drive: Eve of Destruction IMO
Haha me too, thanks man. Your cool you get a follow for thatayyy I thought I was the only one who grew up playing eve of destruction lol one of my favorite games ever
I would be surprised if it can be anywhere near Horizon, the only company that could match them in a game like this is PD, but they haven't shown any desire to make an MMO.I look forward to a new TDU, but it would have to be pretty massive to contend with Forza Horizon and I don't mean just the map, but the car list won't be anywhere near Forza's. And as great as the dealership and house thing was in the originals, I don't think that is enough to draw players in.
I loved TDU but my hopes aren't high for a new one. They were good at the time for being among the only open world racers, but now there is competition to live up to. I would love to be proven wrong.
Strange how that is, huh? I dunno if the map in TDU was larger (Oahu) than FH4's UK map, but it sure felt like it. And FH4 has houses but rendered them a bit useless since it's only a hub for your car stuff, not allowing the player to walk around is a bit silly. The Forzavista feels outdated and restricted, why not allow the player to roam free at least in the driveway space? Meanwhile, TDU had an entire house to play with.I loved they way you had to move arround the map to buy stuff and look for cars. Also the world was more deeper than in horizon4 atm. Walking arround in your house, the casino!!, funnyst plastic surgery implementation ever in game history, motorbikes.....

FH4 is a more impressive game in every aspect otherwise, but damn is it sad that an old game developed by a smaller company had better features in it. TDU felt like a car lifestyle game and FH4, while a good game, feels like Youtuber's paradise with very little depth to it.
While probably never going to happen, I am patiently waiting for TDU to become backwards compatible on the Xbox One to replay those again.
I don't think it will ever happen, sadly, for TDU or PGR. Car games are tough to license in the first place, and I imagine it's the licenses with the car manufacturers that would hold up any backwards compatibility. The same reasons we've not seen a release of Gran Turismo 1 or 2 on PS Classics (or anywhere else). In fact, I am struggling to think of any racer that's been re-released before. That is going to take a while because we havent got PGR3 and PGR4 as Backwards compatible for Xbox one i highly TDU will get that treatment.
