The first "new" car I ever owned was a 1991 VW Golf (II) GTi. And ironically, in Montana Metallic color. This brings back a lot of happy memories.

That said, the 4x4 country was a bit....silly. Even in its day.

I remember the Syncro and was always upset we never got the Rallye in the USA. Took so long to finally get the awd R32, but I loved the A2 Golf/Jetta. People like to say Miata is the answer, but the Golf does it all.

My son has a Hot Wheels VW Country and I remember looking at it the other day and wondering if it was a real car. Question answered.
