TS060 did seem like an obvious choice of name to continue their lineage of prototypes. Wonder what they'll call the road version. Maybe they'll keep the GR Super Sport name. This whole car is a big case of making minor things different for the sake of being different. First up of course is the name, skipping out on a legacy name like TS060 and going with GR010 instead. The one that bothers me more though is the new livery. They went with rectangles instead of the dynamic sharp shapes they had before just to be different. I think this is the worst iteration of the Gazoo livery so far. Looks like they slapped it together in an hour.
Also is it just me or is the new Hypercars class sticker one of the goofiest things you’ve ever seen? A simple LMH would have been fine but nah let’s try to cram as many characters into this small box as possible and make the font tiny.
Same.I remember I actually got excited when the Hypercar class was announced thinking of a modern GT1-like class but all it is really is LMP1 Lite.
Nice car though.
The WEC Sebring round isn't going ahead apparently and that should be made official on Monday. The Sebring round is 24hrs before the IMSA WSCC round there and I just am concerned that the Wethertech Sportscars will perhaps show just how small the WEC grid is.
Oh that's dead and buried. Aston says it pulled out because of the LMDh plans, ACO says Aston pulled out because it ran out of money.(are Aston Martin still planning on entering a race version of the Valkyrie or is that all by the wayside now?)

Agreed, although I do think it looks amazing.I don't mind how it looks. I mean, it's not beautiful but that isn't my point. For 55 out of the last 60 years top level sportscars haven't even bothered to look like "road cars" and even then, the 1994-98 GT1 homologation specials barely pass. So I'm really uninterested in the "Oh it looks/it doesn't look..." argument.
I'm hopeful that this class can have some good racing. That's what I am most interested in.
There's much more to it than looks.I mean, this is cool, don't get me wrong. But surely it makes the new 'hypercar' class seem a bit pointless? It's pretty similar to what LMP1 was. Also a bit pointless when you consider Toyota's key competitors will be racing LMDh which, from what I understand, will be just as fast
Blame the manufacturers for not having the guts to actually have their cars compete.Imagine a grid line up of FXXK, P1 GTR, 918 RSR, Valkyrie, AMG One, GMA T50, Huayra R, Jesko, Divo, Apollo Intensa Emozione and Aventador SCV12. Instead, we get what? 3 cars in the first race and if you remove the liveries you probably couldn't tell which car belonged to which manufacturer.
