Hi folks! Here I am again, bringing you news of Team Volvo's rise to the top of the Automotive world in my own arcade championship. After 2 rampant wins in a row at the Nurburgring, I actually thought it might be tougher to win here at Circuit De La Sarthe II (Unchicaned version).
My rivals were a few Nissan Skylines, a strong Honda Civic, and a Mercedes A120 but that just stayed at the back and minded it's own.
So to business....
Lap 1 (of 30) - The B Spec Arcade Round 3 is underway with the S60 savagely attacking through turn 1, and is up to third by the time he gets to the massive 4 mile straight. He is up to P2 half way down, and sweeps through for the lead with an impressive move in the kink. With speeds upwards of 160 mph, he charges off ahead, but on Lap 2 with a 13 second lead, spins violently and makes contact with the wall. More care needed I think, so he slows to pace 2.
From then on, it's a matter of course. THe S60 has everything under control, escaping at 3 seconds a lap, and through the three pitstops, no one else could hold anything to the car at the front.
After 2 1/2 hours cruising, the Volvo S60 crosses the line for it's third consecutive victory, but 3 mins 02 seconds.
There is clearly a good chance we can challenge for overall victory in this championship.
Also yesterday I acquired a Mercedes SLR McLaren for 612,000 Cr. I then spent over 350,000 cr. kitting it out to an 845 bhp monster. At the test course it clocked 239.9 mph, and averaged 237 mph on it's fastest lap (incidentally a lap record for my game by a huge margin). I then took it to the Nurburgring to prove it was no flash in the pan, and the results genuinely shook me inside.
The B Spec driver (who now for me has 6500 points), clocked a 6 minutes 39.9 seconds, a new all time record averaging 121.1 mph, breaking the real life record held by Niki Lauda back in 1975 by 19 1/2 seconds. Can anyone tell me how fast this is in comparison to their quickest times? I will also post my result on the "Nurburgring Lap Times" sheet.
Keep racing!
